But not all 'royals' are equal. Some bring in far more than others. In fact I fail to see how fergies kids bring in a single penny to the UK economy but we all know they take something out.

Its like some of arguing that letting scowen go for nowt was bad business and somebody else saying 'but we made a profit overall on the players we lost that season. Yes because of sales of other players, it doesn't make them all right.

I’m more concerned with the current government’s interpretation of that statement than the royal family. Equality and no class hierarchy? Not under this shower.

I used to advocate abolishing the monarchy. Then I spent a few days in London and saw the bedlam of tourism, generated for things like changing the guard and the royal palaces. Some of which are the personal property of the queen, not the property of the monarchy.

And there’s folk who’d argue strongly against regardless.

Look at the interest in Harry’s wedding earlier in the year - there’s not everyone that are against or apathetic to the royal family. I certainly believe they generate more than they take.

I don’t think the ninth in line to the throne should have had public purse funding for policing her wedding mind you.

To be fair she works and gets no funding - officially. Her dad gets loads like...

Apparently yesterday was a good day for the government to bury bad news, like the latest Brexit impact statements:

1). The official advice to companies dealing across Europe is to move their company headquarters into Europe.
2). No Deal means that the gas and electric interconnects are cut-off, which in turns means we are unable to supply enough gas or electricity to meet normal demand.

So as well as food and medicine shortages, we'll all be cold and unable to cook whatever we can scavenge. David Davies might have been right when he suggested a Mad Max dystopia.

Which fact are you questioning? I have links for all of them. This morning 6% of UK electricity was coming over the interconnects from France and Holland. Our gas storage capacity (near Wickes in tahn and at Meadowhall for example) is no more and the papers are available for all to read on the DeXEU website.
