I wasn't saying this is what should happen - it was a commentary on what does happen.

Try it for yourself.

Look at the primeministerial prospects since Callaghan took on Thatcher.

Every single election won by the one who looks most "prime ministerial" - Again it was a close call between Kinnock and Major (neither being all that to be fair) but that dip in the drink didn't help him.

Just look how Jimmy Crankie has gone up in the nations standings in Scotland since she got the style guru's involved.

So whilst we all accept we want the world to be a certain way - if you were Jeremy why wouldn't you sharpen your image - just in case the world is as shallow as it appears - because as you say Theresa is not exactly leading the way on this and it shouldn't take him too much effort to catch up.
