The board have had some stick over the years for the timing or not getting contracts sorted early enough. They have had to evaluate the challenges of todays market, the budget and the risks during upcoming windows but also the uncertainty of where we will be playing in the next season. If you were in a position between now and the transfer window re-opening would you offer any players extensions right now and which would you see as the key players to keep longer term.
I said it last week and I will say it again, based on last season and I what have seen so far this season, I wouldn't offer new contracts to anyone. This group of players will hopefully get us promoted but they won't keep us in the Championship. I'll re-evaluate in January.
I agree. A few games in this Mickey Mouse league against riff raff teams, where we still aren't in automatic promotion, is too early to be thinking about new contracts for reuse failures that put us in this league. We shall see in January.
