Or has their case been decided? Just asking as there still may be a scenario whereby 2 teams are relegated for financial reasons!
According to a Wednesday supporter at work their punishment (if any) would be announced by end of last week but nothing happened. I’m not pinning any hopes on it as the EFL won’t have the bottle to do it.
There's NO WAY such a massive club will get sufficient punishment, look at little Macclesfield they can't punish them enough. It's corruption at its best!
There was a strong rumour on Friday that the EFL charges had been quashed and an announcement was imminent (tomorrow). This could well have been a Twitter rumour that got out of hand but there appears to have been enough different sources to suggest that this was more than just the usual wind-up. If you want to judge for yourself, head over to Porktalk or just search on Twitter for any post containing EFL and Owls. In any case, they are a mid-table side so any points deduction would have to be massive to have any effect on our survival chances - they don't have a bad run in and are well capable of a few positive results..
According to Andy Giddings yesterday all news was pure speculation and that no formal decision had been announced yet.
No club has ever received a 12 point deduction for a first offence, financial irregularity-type charge. I hope they set a precedent with the Fowls, mind
