    Somebody was questioning the value of the daily update on here recently,saying the politicians don't really answer the questions put to them. They may be onto something, having just checked the BBC1 schedule for this afternoon:

    I don't think there is a need for daily briefings. Less is more when they either avoid answering questions, constantly repeat themselves or don't know the answer to something. Over three quarters of a million have signed up to volunteer. If the government could get around to mass producing tests then i'm sure every single person in the UK could have a test in no time at all.

    Maybe it would be better if the briefings were delivered by people of science and people charged with logistics rather than politicians addicted to spin?
