Won't be Harriet Harman, she's so unpopular Labour hid her away for most of the campaign, like the Conservatives did with Grant Schapps.

Good arguments in my view. The current crop of Labour hierarchy are uninspiring and stale, marked by this abject failure.

There is a desperate need for new blood, fresh impetus and a new face.

Cameron, for all his abhorrent oiliness, was the unheard of Tory pin-up boy who breathed new life into their listing ship and I believe Jarvis could do the same for a Labour Party now horribly exposed in a new political landscape where it is hard to see how they are ever going to be in a position to form a majority government.

For me he is a man of substance and presence who poses far more of a threat to the Tories than the best of a bad bunch of what currently passes for the Labour top ranks.

Today has sickened me to the pit of my stomach, but short of abandoning the country to the rule of these vicious, grasping apes, it's a matter of taking the hit and digging deep with a view to hitting back and making best use if our troops.

    Step forward Dan Jarvis.

I know Alan well. He's gave me some work when I first started working for myself. He's a really lovely bloke. Can't see him fancying the stress though.

Of all the Labour MPs I genuinely think he's the best man for the job.

I agree I think he's had enough of the spotlight. Though you never can tell.

Can I just point out that the unions form Labour's biggest membership, donors, and core voters. Labour grew out of trade unionism, and they are the strongest challenging voice in this country to the interests of big business to which Labour are too in thrall. I know unions have been demonised by the right and distanced by new Labour but they didn't shaft anyone, they supported the candidate with the most progressive message

Bit like the thousands that get Scab chanted at them in the County / Forrest games then.

Are you suggesting that some Barnsley fans are thick?

No. Im not suggesting anything. What i am stating though is that some fans decry people from Nottingham and assume everyone is a Scab. It is on record that Dan Jarvis had a luke warm reception in his role in Barnsley due to his Nottingham heritage and the mininer strike history between the two towns. So without putting words in my mouth, i asked a question if we saw him in the same category as what some generalise as a scab, especially him being a Forrest fan? So what do you say? By the Way i like him and i would fully support him being leader of the Labour party.

What I say is that the only people who could be called scabs are those who directly went against the strike. People who weren't involved are no more scabs than I am a racist slave driver simply because I am white and a white person once did that.

Even those who did go against the strike had their reasons for doing it in my opinion.

David Cameron is an Aston Villa fan, but once he forgot and thought he supported West Ham.

Jarvis has only been an MP for about 5 minutes and now he's been talked of as leader, there must be some powerful people behind the scenes sponsoring and mentoring him, I think he's another Tony Blair.
