Anyone else reckon this would be a good signing?

No , why waste a loan signing on a goalkeeper, when there are more pressing positions that require attention

Yes. Don't see why anyone would think a keeper who's got a team promoted out of our league as recent as last season, wouldn't be a good signing. Klopp has ruined him this season by letting him rot without meaningful games, after what he achieved last season.

Be a brilliant signing. Can't believe he doesn't get a game ahead of Mignolet & Karius.
It would be as good as the Jack Butland signing a few season's back.
Davies's mistakes have cost us this season and the odd point or two here and there could be the difference between staying up or relegation.

Would be a great signing but can only seeing us going in with a loan deal if we did.
Problem with that though is Liverpool have put financial clauses in for any future loan deals, and are rumoured to be very high. Would the club want to waste cash on a temp deal?

Apparently quite a few of the top premiership clubs are now going down that route.

Would be pointless we need a young hungry keeper to offer a long term challenge to Davies not a shirt term fix.

There is no chance of us signing him permanently.

    Oh I see.
So you would support signing a permanent keeper to take Davies's place and force him to up his game to get back in the side but not a loanee who will be gone in the summer?

Sums up my feelings throughout the squad

No I would support us signing a young keeper from the spreadsheet to offer long term competition for Davies and ditching the useless Townsend. Not sure why we would want to replace a keeper who has kept 3 clean sheets in 5 in a struggling side.

In terms of the rest of the team I’d say we need 6/7 first team players to replace some who aren’t yet up to the Championship. If we can afford and recruit them permanently all the better if we cannot as January is not the best time for recruitment I’d have no problem with a loan of the quality of James or Morsy.

I cant think of one world class save this season. Just run of the mill saves you'd expect any keeper to make. On the other hand I can think of at least 6 goals which a top class keeper would have kept out. All about opinions but I think he's cost us more points than he's saved us.

Strange that, a second tier goalkeeper not making world class saves , odd indeed , however , if you watched Liverpool last night , you would have seen a current England goalkeeper have a bit of a nightmare

Saw plenty from Steele, Muller, Watson, Baker, Pierce etc. In the second tier.
I get you're a fan of Davies, I am not. So Pickford dropped a clanger which is why he's not rated as highly as Butland.

I liked all the keepers you mentioned , its not so much I like him , its how fans have to blame someone & often keepers get in the neck but when dishing out stick , selective memories syndrome seems to kick in & all I say is that when an outfield player drops a gooly he can get away with it , where a keeper cannot & thats why I highlighted Pickford , who incidentally I rate very highly

Fair dos mate. I get where you're coming from. Problem is that if a goalkeeper misses a shot that's on target then inevitably it's a goal, which is not always the case when an outfield player drops a goolie. Hence, goalkeeping errors tend to be highlighted. I'm of the opinion that the goalkeeper is one of the most important positions on the field and an excellent keeper is worth his weight in gold. Hopefully Davies will reach that stage in the future but he's a long way off at the moment whereas to answer the original question, I reckon Danny Ward is there now.

Yes , I agree with you about Ward, thought he did very well for Huddersfield last year , the strange thing is though , the two goalkeepers in front of him at Anfield , do not come across as consistent premier league performers & you wonder why Ward has not been given any opportunities with the first team
