Championship Play-Off Qualifiers (in no particular order): Barnsley Huddersfield Sheffield Wednesday Leeds What price that?
I'll start to dream about our play off chances when Wednesdays luck finally runs out and we win a game on the same day. Saying that, even if we lose ground after our next few tough games we've a very decent looking run in which could see us close the gap again. As unlikely as it is, it would be great to have us all in there at the end of the season.
of course we dare but all of the top 11 will be eyeing the play-offs... its not over by a long way yet. I also would not bet on Brighton staying in the auto's either Huddersfield are in string distance of them and seem to more consistent than them. Would superb to have the 4 Yorkshire clubs in it. But motorway services would be shitting themselves
If we can go into the Wednesday game in April still within touching distance of the play-offs, I actually think we'll make it. Our run in is quite favourable barring Newcastle. It's the 7 or so games before then that are particularly tricky and we need to consistently pick up points against the big sides if we are to challenge the top 6. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
It's fine to dream, that's what football is all about. We've got a great side, no weaknesses, great spirit, a firm plan A along with B and C when required, a top keeper, premier league quality defenders, good competition in midfield and in form strikers. Why not?
Well if we do reach Wembley, I hope it will be against a Southern team. The traffic and trains from the North will be much busier than what we've experienced in our previous finals. Getting back in the pub for about 9 o'clock has an appeal to it as well.
That was probably on the cards....... That line up was possible. Barnsley just ONE POINT off the play offs. Then came the January window. Uncertainty, upheaval, chaos........wheels off. Lost points. Hecky playing catch up now.
That scenario has an assumption that the last 2 home games would've had different/better outcomes, We can never know that for sure. Like we could never know if these last 2 away games would've had similar or better or worse outcomes.
just what does your village do for an idiot...... when you are on holiday. No really that's the question.
Re: just what does your village do for an idiot...... It's no good dreaming....an unlucky 1 goal defeat on Saturday and this forum will be in uproar again...no ambition...giving away our best players..looking at a relegation battle...tinpot club...you know the stuff .
I wouldn't say wheels were off. Lost a bit of momentum but only fell to one defeat. We've still been hard to beat, and that's helped us. We're doing better than I thought we would after January tbh. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Re: just what does your village do for an idiot...... Aye, funny how they're not about at the moment...
Re: just what does your village do for an idiot...... I shall treat that with the contempt it deserves!
well not from me it won't.... and as you may have observed I can be a HUUUUGE exponent of the 'knee jerk' syndrome. I honestly feel we actually will fall short of the Play Offs... but I also feel we will be in the top 10. That will be a fantastic seasons achievement IMHO..... however look at last season , when around the Christmas/New Year period... we were so totally adrift and in panic, then remember what happened next.... yes of course we can dream, and the play offs are not a pipe dream ... Old Trafford is no longer the 'Theatre of Dreams' that title now is owned by OAKWELL.
I see rest of season now a bonus were just about safe now. I think we should experiment a bit with side now for next year
Hardly think 11 points from 18 since January 21st is "wheels off" Villa have 1 point from the last 18. That's proper wheels off is that.
I am a negative thinker/poster when it comes to our team (its just the way I am), and I still think that the play offs were always beyond us. Even as we reached the dreaded January window and still had all of our team in tact at the time. And as I keep my expectations low/realistic, I can keep on feeling amazed and proud to be a Tykes fan especially when we can goto Villingham and do to them what we did yesterday.
