Great final. I wanted Durrant to lose when he did a jig after they left the stage with him 6-4 up.
Mark McGeeney only has himself to blame by missing the double to take the title but you've
got to hand it to Durrant for hanging in there and winning 7-6.
He's now thinking about leaving the BDO and chancing his arm in the PDC.
He'll find it very hard to make it playing against those boys.

Durrant will make more money as a top 32 PDC then he will as the BDO world champion two years in a row. Barry Hearn this year for the world championship alone has added 700k to the prize fund and with that put the winners cheque up 100k from Rob Cross, to half a million. Playing weekly which BDO schedule doesn't allow and being on TV regularly will improve him too.

PDC have ranked him as 92nd on their list. He's apparently responded by saying he will
remain with the BDO " for life" now.

He claims to have signed a contract with the BDO saying that if he reached the Semi's he would remain with the BDO for the rest of his career. However I'm not sure if McGeeney or any of the other top echelon signed the same contract. PDC Q School starts on Thursday so we'll have to wait & see.
