If it's at Sheffield Crown it'll get thrown out at the first hearing ;| yes I reckon it will be just a show by the dodgy hand shake brigade.. He'll be let off
The horrible situation is that had he not reacted in every likelihood people would have been seriously injured outside The previous incident in the spurs wolves game clearly showed the venue was completely unsuitable to hOst such an event. Damed if you do damed if you dont
Shame on the people who were calling the victims families whinging **** and saying there shouldn’t be an inquiry and should let it be . Shame ,shame .shame
I would like to believe he would now open up and tell the truth about what happened after that day and name names. My instinct is he won't and will take the details to his grave. He has been well protected from justice for the last 29 years. The details of the 1980s would not reflect well on the current government or SY Police. I have no axe to grind one way or another but I feel he is the scapegoat for this tragedy. The role and behaviour of the FA, SWFC, SYP, Sheffield Council, News Internatiional and some of their staff and finally the government of the day. I know people want this to go away and don't want reminding of it,but 96 innocent people went to a Football match and died. A whole city and it's population was maligned for decades based on lies. I haven't forgotten or forgiven this country for saying I'm an 'enemy of the state' and 'not one of us'.
Are you for real???! They lied and tried to cover things up, altering witness statements etc... so that doesn't deserve punishment?
There is a due process of law. If he is proved guilty of manslaughter I hope he dies in jail. If it's not proved he will walk free. That's how justice works. Some of the armchair opinions on this thread are just plain stupid. 96 people died. Justice needs to be done. It has taken long enough.
If 'fans' hadn't turned up without tickets, if the very same hadn't been drinking in establishments until 15 minutes before kick off, it touts hadn't been there peddling tickets what happened may not have happened either. However all these things will not come to light at the trials...
My honest view is that Thatcher & her Tory pals played a part in this - she hated football fans (all animals) & put pens between the stands & the pitch! If she hadn’t, the fans would have gone onto the pitch rather than be crushed against the steel cages. I blame her for this & her hatred of us
The person who said hold it at that stadium is the person responsible. Not the person who made the wrongdecision under pressure . The game should not have been held at that stadium
