At this point in his career I don't think he would.

Despite Froch beating Groves twice he showed a lot of signs that he's on the decline

DeGale is letting this fight slip, not doing enough to win these last few rounds.

I had it 115-114 to Degale, it was super close. That Canadian judge needs sacking.

Great fight. Degale did his best to lose it but Dirrell was razor sharp through rounds 7-10. Another 30 seconds in round two though and we wouldn't have needed the scorecards.

Think he seriously gassed. He's been blowing through opponents recently I think it's about three years since he went 12 rounds? Took some really solid shots though. Nobody ever talks about his chin, but I've never seen him hurt or in trouble.

On that showing he'd struggle with Paul Smith never mind Froch

He's already knocked out Paul Smith in less than four rounds .......

Same Carl Froch that won a split decision against Dirrell in his home city of Nottingham? Would be a competitive fight.

Scored it 115-114 Dirrell but delighted DeGale got it.

That was a nightmare to score, have no problems with up to 2 rounds either way. 117-109 was embarrassingly bad though

You do know DeGale's fought Smith & absolutely battered him for 9 rounds without barely taking a shot before the referee ended the beating?

DeGale & Dirrell would always make each other look daft at times because of the speed & reflexes.

Froch got a gift hometown decision against a novice Dirrell 6 years ago & Froch was a lot better then.

Nothing ridiculous at all about thinking gifted boxers like DeGale & Dirrell could cause problems for an in decline, 38/9 year old Froch who's been out of the ring for over a year.

All that can be drawn from that is he fought better against smith then he did tonight I was expecting him saying he'd broken his left hand in 6th round to be honest

I don't care if he fought like he did tonight against Smith he'd struggle

Carl Froch would of destroyed Dirrell tonight. Theres no way on this earth Froch would have allowed him back into it with such ease as DeGale did. DeGale is a very good fighter, I'm sure he'd give Froch problems but I just dont get confidence when watching DeGale like I do from Froch that he's in control.

Yep. 2 wins over chinny George Groves don't convince me that Froch hasn't been on the decline for the past few years.

He's sloppier & slower than ever before & has gone over a year without fighting.

He couldn't stop Dirrell in his prime & DeGale's got a solid chin & there's no way he's out pointing either.

And I'm a massive Froch fan, just think the knockouts took attention away from a fighter on the way down
