they are so totally ***** at international level..... Malta are a team of bakers and builders and candle stick makers etc... and we cannot score against them... and last time we only got two. Its akin to Chelsea playing Athersley Rec and by now it should be in to almost double figures... but this is perhaps the most boring, not to mention the worst performance our team of over paid over rated tossers has done for many a time. In fact I would not be at all bothered if the Maltese held out to full time for a well earned draw , and if they managed to nick a win I would feel well proud for them. Our lot on their over inflated wages and their even over inflated ego's deserve a real taking down. Southgate was never ever the choice for an England manager in any way or form. But the FA as usual took a cheap and manipulative option as the complete set of twits they are... oops sorry I used the wrong vowel in the the middle of twits. WE had a manager back in time who coulda taken us to a major trophy... Mr Brian Clough... but they would not let a man in who would take total control and totally speak his mind from his heart... and until they do all that England will ever do Is occassionely qualify... and always stumble at the final hurdles.

Forgot England were even on. International football is dying.

Actually think the lads can be proud if they battle for a draw against Malta.

Watched 5 minutes, against my better judgement, cos we switched on hoping for coronation street. Didn't realise this crap was on.

Its amazing how ***** our bunch of over hyped players are.

It really is baffling why we can't out think and out play these type of teams.

I get the impression most England players see these internationals as an obligation rather than a privilege. They are so highly paid now that the thrill of representing their country cannot be as much of a buzz as in past times. There's no zest or energy to their performances, just dull, going through the motions type showings hoping to get a goal or two then saunter to 90 mins. The only good thing about Internationals is seeing all our fans at various far flung locations usually having a laugh. Other than that it's mind numbing and gets in the way of the real football.

It's a road game against Malta not a World Cup game. People are acting like we're 2-0 down.

I stupidly decided to watch it. 5 minutes and I can't watch any more. International football is dead. These players are embarrassing.

Liverpool paid £40 million for oxlade chamberlain? He's absolute dogger. I thought Tony Daley or Steve Froggatt were bad. But at least they looked like they could trap and pass a ball.

These "lads" are on £100k a week? £5million a year.

    Pathetic.

Bit weird the OP has pointed out England's only two top class players. But other than that, can't disagree

    Great assist from Dele Ali.

If you guys want to turn on your national side then go ahead, I'm feeling nothing but positive right now. Although I'd rather Southgate wasn't manager, is what it is.

    Harry Kane?

He's the only striker in the last 20 or so years that comes close to the likes of Shearer and Lineker.

His record for England certainly isn't bad, but his record for Spurs is unrivalled for an English player since Rooney was in his prime.
