Why do supposedly adult people like Poet insist on making up rumours and posting them on here?

What satisfaction do you gain from it?

It's one thing spreading a rumour but then lying that you heard it on Dearne FM when you clearly didn't is just childish and pathetic.

 

regardless of whether he made it up or not. I think banning would be a bit far fetched.

You can't ban people for finding stuff funny that you don't. And if we can, is it okay to ban Gaz, I think he's rubbish.

 

I think 'sick lie' is a bit strong. He's hardly announced he's found a body in the Dearne. I think its just a wind up to be honest. I really hope its true, just too many things dunt add up. Davey dunt announce until signed and delivered etc. Nobody else heard the report. Poet has done it before. Someone was saying hes posted we've scored when we havent during games. I really don't understand why anyone would do that. But then i never understood the kids at school that pulled the legs offa frogs n stuff. If it turns out to be a lie. I guess we'll just have to ignore the guy, he's an idiot.

CityFish Tyke,if it transpires that Poet has fabricated the rumour, there are two possible(possible being the operative word) offended parties here. First, Simon Davey for
making a statement, when infact he hasn't and Second, that Dearne fm have broacast an official statement via the manager. like it or not but both parties could,if they so wish,
take action against this guy.If true however please accept my apologies Poet .But, if the rumour is false and if Poet is an adult he shouldn't be just catagorised as being an idiot.
That may only go on to reinforce his behaviour. If he is not an adult,on the otherhand,then the kid needs guiding but not persecuting.The only person who can resolve this
issue is Poet himself.

Baskerville-i dunno. i see what you are saying about the offended parties, as it turns out he did lie about DearneFM, but i think people should be and generally are allowed to say whatever they want. The price we pay for that unfortunately is you get idiots winding people up. But i would rather live in a world, and post on a board, in/on which people were allowed to say what ever they liked, so long as they weren't harming any one. I know that last bit makes things unclear and what do you mean by 'harming' etc. I don't think its big or clever what Poet did(suppossing he did just make it all up, which i dont know either way whether he made it all up, just some of it, or none of it). but hes no more than an attention seeking idiot. each to their own. we dont have to read his posts and, if it turns out it is all bs, then i probably wont again.
Please feel free to disagree with me, i would welcome and encourage active debate on the subject.
