A bit ridiculous IMO. Can see why they’ve been banned, but a bit OTT in my opinion. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/7743616/school-bans-canada-goose-moncler-pyrenex-coats/
Whilst I think some of the things schools do border on the ridiculous. On this occasion I totally agree with the stance. Also, a thousand quid for a coat that they'll grow out of within a year to me is bonkers. Wouldn't spend that amount even if I was filthy rich.
I completely support a school uniform policy that extends to designer coats. Why would any parent want to spend this kind of money on a coat in the first place? Morally I would not ever consider buying a Canada Goose coat, I find their practises abhorrent.
They're all copies, the Canada Goose one is one of the most copied at the minute. They'll have paid around £50/70 to pick one up so not much difference in price to what they would spend
Looked at getting one, absolute joke, spent not even a third of that on a great North Face one which feels far better constructed and no animals were harmed in its production.
Good. I personally always enjoyed being screamed at by a parent because their child had taken their unlabelled coat off in the playground, left it outside and then it went missing. Quite how that was my fault I have no idea but plenty of parents liked to shout in front of all the other parents that I would now have to pay £200 for a new one. I can only imagine their reaction if it had cost 3 or 4 times that.
I'd like a real one but my husband won't buy me one because of the amount of copies around at the minute. They are good though so it is hard to tell difference. I've got a copied Moncler hat and scarf
It seems totally reasonable to me. The idea of a uniform it to make the kids all conform. In life that is a bad thing largely but in school I think it is reasonable
At last someone stands against those ********! I'll never get over them chasing me around Cawthorne Park as a kid. Utter ******** the lot of them...
I would be far more on board if it was “you have to wear a coat with the school logo on” or whatever. This is “you can wear anything except these very specific brands” - more about policing what parents are allowed to buy for their kids than making everyone conform. It doesn’t really bother me, but I thought it might spark interesting debate.
