I honestly don’t know what to believe about our fans anymore.

There’s posters who honestly think that it was Hecky’s fault that we didn’t get the McBurnie deal done

Did it ever come out who's fault it was that we didn't sign McBurnie.

Yes it was Hemmsy's fault, he saw some of the deluded posts on here and turned around and went back to Swansea...

    :p

It was Swansea’s fault. Deal was all done dependant on Bony coming in, it should’ve gone straight through but they didn’t get this or the Yiadom deal done

I wish we could go back to the days of a squad of 15 or 16 players, a token loan signing around deadline day, one substitute and giving managers/coaches time. The world of the quick fix (in theory anyway) as soon as things aren't seen as going to plan is risky anyway. Alex Ferguson would never have been given 4 or 5 years to win a trophy, when he finished Man Utd took three changes of manager (and plenty of cash) to win a league cup.

It's a simple reality to me, as talented as the players we have are, and there is potential in some of them, they aren't as good or as consistent as those that left, a challenge magnified by the number that had to be replaced. That's not a criticism of them, just my honest view. Given time some may prove as good as those that left us. They deserve time, the coach deserves time. And support. To replace like with like, or better, would have used up that relative affluence, that as a club we currently have, very very quickly in either wages or transfer fees. Even potential has a price.

Success in most aspects of life is bloody well hard earned, even harder to sustain, with plenty of pain experienced on the way, part of which is holding your nerve when times are tough. And even more rewarding when success does arrive.

In the circumstances he did a brilliant job to be fair. We were on our ar5e, put together some journeymen, 2nd in table on Boxing Day. Wasn't he removed by Ridsdale so he could bring Paul Hart in?

I think he was set on in 2003 & had a good start & you are right , he was sacked by Ridsdale in 2004 , however , thing were going down hill when he was removed & replaced by Paul Hart. My point was to Hemsworth was, that we have been down the road of a foreign manager/coach before & for whatever reason it did not work out

And yet again he compares the situation with a big premier league club.

When will you take on board that the situation at Oakwell bears on resemblance to that of any of the premier league clubs you love so much.

We are trying to be competitive against far wealthier and better supported clubs.

It's been like this ever since we started dropping back into league one, in which time we've replaced manager after manager, with no long term improvement.

There is nothing that even the special one could do to make things better at Oakwell with the tools that have been given and those taken away.

Everton aren't the premier league equivalent of us just because they're struggling. They've got a hell of a lot more to get them up the league.

All went pearshaped after boxing day for him didn't it? Played poorly at hartlepool but won, and then went on a bad run.

It's not many managers that have had two halves of the same season that match is it?

Yes, wasn't it that 6-1 defeat at Grimsby that did for him, with us down to 10 men early on, but with Rankine playing against us and scoring (hat trick??) whilst on loan to them?

Think we lost next home game as well mate. Peterborough?? Or was that Paul Harts last game?

Good old Paul Hart. Went to Rushden away, think it was his first game. We won, scored 3 and expected him to be **** a hoop, but he was so gloomy in his post match interview, would have thought we'd lost

Him and his midfield diamond and "worked their socks off"

I hated that bloke by the time he had gone. He was so dour it's unreal.

Bloody hell mate! I'd forgotten that name.

That's one to test my mate with at the weekend.

I think Steve Hayward played that day. Might have just come back from his knee injury. He was superb afore he got crocked.
