That’s the back 3 from now on? Looked good to me. Williams had a good game on left. Can only mean good competition from odour and ritz. Also Collins didn’t look too bad between sticks either.

my personal selection for Saturday would probably be to keep the same team we started with last night. Never thought I would say that with Schmidt starting but maybe a run of games will do him the world of good and he’s already scored some important goals for us. What’s people’s thoughts? If anyone who would you change from last night?

My WiFi was playing up, so only saw the game in snatches. That was a beautiful nonchalant finish from P. Schmiddy, how was his all-round game?

It’s a nice dilemma for Struber to have on Saturday, especially if we get another striker in.
Hard to see how he could leave Helik out after last night

I agree the whole team played well but you have to start with styles and Woodrow in my opinion. Probably at the expense of ritzmaier and frieser. Schmidt should be given another start purely becaust he got the goal.

I think it depends on how Struber sees Reading as an opponent. We played a completely different system last night to the one against Luton and it worked - despite that mental first 10/15 minutes where we didn't look at the races at all.

We benefited from the wing backs having the freedom to roam the pitch, move inside, and give us extra bodies in the midfield when we won the ball. First half especially Ritz was almost the wing back and Williams was inside left. If it's the same system then I'd go with the same team, but Struber's view of Reading impacts that decision I think.

I think it's Schmidt OR Woodrow now. Frieser did a lot of donkey work last night to allow Schmidt to keep busy and move in to space. That would benefit Woodrow as well, but play them together and you won't get the best out of either of them.

Interesting that Chaplin is removed from the conversation at the moment.

Walton will be back in goal and possibly Styles for Ritzmaier

Reading should be a tougher proposition in theory. For me I'd start Styles, he's tenacious although obviously has lots to learn still. I'd also start Woodrow and Chaplin. We need a win.

Didn’t see game, but would think it would be harsh for Walton to be kept out.

Once folk understand what Schmidt offers, then you can understand which games he’ll start, and which games he’ll be on the bench.

He’s a natural finisher and finds good positions. He does work hard to find space, but his work rate is not as obvious as others - but it’s still there. His finishing shows he’s intelligent and quick thinking when in front of goal, which is a natural instinct to him.

I’ve said before - he’s very much like Nardiello, although Schmidt does work a lot harder and will track back. A good asset to the team, but reliant on good service to him.

I still can’t believe how good that finish was. I could watch it over and over again!

That performance from Schmidt was the first time I have actually seen him work hard when not in possession, maybe finally the penny has dropped. Smart finish from the lad.

Squad game though especially with 2 games a week and the effort that we put in. Would expect changes for Saturday.

These were the 2 changes that came to my mind also.
