So am stood ther thinkin without ..moore mcgeehan brown and nah dougal (4 players who would walk into any other league 1 side)..how will we even get a point. especially as they had the better of the 1st half. then by 85 mins couldnt believe we ant won.....meks ta proud to be a red . special mention for davis...superb.
Our defence is keeping us in it. What I noticed about the Donny game is how much better it is even away from the squad for us compared to them. The matchday programme was a three quid rip off. It was so thin it was like a cup programme and it was full of adverts. The manager page had three tiny paragraphs and on the fixtures page it had TBC for some away followings which they should know by now. The PA system wasn't great and electronic advertising boards are distracting so hopefully we don't get them. 3.80 for a plastic bottle of Kingstone Press or Carlsberg is expensive. Hot and cold drinks were 2.30-2.40 when we sell them all for two quid. Season tickets were advertised at 395 for their most expensive. It's no wonder it's so empty when they charge so much. Couple of plus points though as the car park you could drive out of straight away no waiting around like at other grounds such as Scunny. The scoreboard is something that would look great at Oakwell but they like taking the score and time off it all the time to advertise stuff during the half. They used the instrumental to the Bayley WWE theme at half time going through birthdays and anniversaries. Loved that they spoke over the mic to all the mascots. Our own will grow up remembering thousands of their own supporters clapping them and giving them a you reds chant.
Loved the bit if Housemartins at the end as well but the scoreboard did my head in, had to look at the one behind me to get the time.
When we win our next two Sunderland will be feeling the pressure of having to win all three games in hand to overtake us, whilst coping playing most Tuesdays.
Sunderland only have the games in hand to hang onto its their only hope. All season they’ve had games in hand and they’ve never capitalised on that. There’s no way they’re gonna win enough games from now until the end of the season to finish in the automoatic places in my opinion. It’s there for us. Portsmouth are picking up again though.
I hope Portsmouth win the checkatrade and knock the stuffing out of them. However, I think this rest spell Sunderland have got will work in their favour. Fans being sneerry about Accrington so I hope that galvanises a win for them.
