Something else for you all to argue about - Who has right of way. Seen this on Facebook, and it's alarming the answers some folks are giving. .
I'm going to say D. In all seriousness, that would be a pretty nasty junction to come up against if you weren't used to it! A bit of reworking of the road to soften that corner would be required if the main road really does swing round the corner like that...
Shouldn't be allowed on the road if you get that wrong. Just don't cross the road markings unless the way is clear. CABD
D....cos I'm a tw@t. C and the road into Cortonwood shops goes like that...l seen many a near miss (the bit heading to Argos)
CABD - looks like the junction near Meltham Golf Club where logic flies out of the window in reality.
Nearly every week some idiot tries to run me over going the wrong way down the one-way system to McDonald's at Cortonwood.
C on carriageway has priority A on carriageway waiting to turn right but must give way to oncoming traffic C B Also turning right but is at a give way so must yield to A D Exiting side road behind B so same as B (but if on a driving test would he/she get a minor error mark for failing to signal whether turning left at junction or right My personal 'favourite' Junction in Barnsley is when you come down Harboro Hill , bear left taking the RH lane and then bearing right onto Wakefield road to turn right to go back onto Harboro Hill. You should enter Wakefield road from the RH lane round the back of the island into the Middle lane on Wakefield road and go round the front of the shop (cant remember what it is now (used to be PC World) in the LH lane. The number of times someone has cut from the RH lane to the left as they leave Wakefield road nearly taking my front end off or running into the side of me (even though I am signalling right) and then having the nerve to swear at me / rod me 'cos they think the middle lane on Wakefield road is only for straight on towards Burton Road. Cant they see the arrows on the road??
I don't drive, but it's clearly C. I too have seen this on Facebook and amazed at how many people (I presume) are not looking at the junction and therefore saying A.
Surely it's 'C' as they're the only one who isn't crossing the white lines. As has been mentioned that is a pretty horrible junction where some drivers would get it terribly wrong.
Nobody. There is no such thing as "right of way". The term used now is "Priority" and there's more than just a subtle difference. For example it's never ok to run down a pedestrian because you think you've got some sort of "right". You may have priority but no right. Incidentally, several classes of road users have an absolute right to use the roads, this includes pedestrians, horse riders, cyclists and horse-drawn vehicles but NOT drivers of motor vehicles. They are ALLOWED to use the roads under strict conditions:- Valid Driver's license with less than 12 penalty points. Incidentally if anyone is seriously in any doubt about the answer to who has priority in the original question, they should be made to do a retest. It's absolutely bloody obvious. Valid motor insurance. The vehicle is roadworthy (MOT certificate is not sufficient, it must actually be roadworthy, ie all lights working etc) The payment of Vehicle Excise Duty (there is no such thing as road tax) Driver must not be under the influence of drink or drugs. Driver must not use a mobile phone. The list goes on. A motor vehicle is a lethal weapon and must be driven with care and consideration to all other road users, especially vulnerable ones. As for the original question, surely anyone who doesn't know the answer should be made to retake their driving test.
C. driving up Dodworth High Street to the junction (next to the Library) -- if I want to go right across towards The Fairway and a car coming from the direction of the Fairway wants to turn right at the junction towards Dodworth Church who has right of way?
Anybody who thinks that's difficult should definitely avoid the Duke/Wood/Union Street junction above the Outpost.
CABD Unless you're coming out of the B&Q in Killingbeck in Leeds where, unless C indicates,A and B goes whenever the f*ck it wants. Sent from space using satellites and things
I saw this too and was surprised at some of the answers. If the number of drivers who drive into McDs at Corton Wood are anything to go by they don't know what a No entry sign looks like either.
Not the same thing but one that always gets me is just how many people do not know is how to use a mini roundabout. The amount of times I've approached one to find a car on my right waiting patiently for no reason and then waving me in front of them is ridiculous.
I reckon something like 90% of drivers on the road would fail the test if they drove like they normally do. Might even be more than that....
