    Another I worked harder than anybody else thread .ffs.
    There's a well known saying that you can take the person from X town/village etc. but you can't take X town from the person.
    Well with your attitude towards persons who's circumstances you dont know I would say the spirit of our town has well and truly left you

    As I said would recommend it wholeheartedly
    Brass bands galore ,
    If your not bothered about the speeches the brass bands play at the cathedral where new banners are also blessed by the clergy.
    Second saturday in July Every year.
    Start off at the county hotel that's where all bands and procession pass on Way to cricket ground and the dignitaries are on the balcony acknowledging each and everyone.
    This year's been the best yet and they just get better .

    You want to think yourself very lucky my friend if it wasn't for the union's and the labour movement there's no way you would ever be able to achieve your goal's, the suffering and hardships the socialists of the 19th and 20th century must have been horrendous ( just go and look at the monument in Silkstone Churchyard were boy's and girl's aged between 8 and 14 year old died in the coal mines of the wealthy Conservative landowners) just for fighting for the rights to live a normal life and not as a slave, if it was not for the labour movement we would still be ruled by these tyrants, I wish you well in your business but never forget where you come from.

    It's a fantastic day out and the brass bands are great. I have a few mates who play. Always brings a tear to the eye. Go. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
