That we've lost from a winning position (yet again) to a team that are pretty much relegation fodder. Significant changes required in the summer or we will be next season's Rotherham.
Can't see us picking up anymore points this season.

You should be glad we're not relegation fodder

    It's frustrating isn't it.

Every game I've seen us in since January we've competed but just can't get it right at both ends of the pitch in the same game.

I think we'll beat Burton as they're virtually safe after today, and lose at Newcastle. 60 points would represent a good season. Hopefully Hecky will perform miracles in the summer and we'll compete again next season.

The big worry is that it is starting to look like it will need nothing less than a miracle.

No we shouldn't. If we are simply happy at just staying up we should shut up shop. This isn't the first time in recent seasons where mid season antics have ruined a good season.

The main thing is keeping Hecky, that is the first step, because with him in charge we will always compete. The question is, will the board back him in the summer? Unlike January 2017.....

Doubt the board will back him and still no CEO in place, would understand if hecky walked away in the summer.

So if we lost every single game from January onwards, some would still be happy just as long as we're not in relegation danger ?
I expected this sort of poor form this season when we went up so its been a surprisingly good season really. But it could and should also have been so much better, and our lack of ambition at boardroom level (or incompetence, which ever way you want to look at it), has turned the team into what we see now. What is it now 1 win in 12 and 0 wins at home since Leeds in January ?

Yes main thing is to keep Hecky.
And yes the board will bring in more players.

    BUT THATS NOT THE POINT

Because if they do bring players in they will be on short term inflexible contracts.
So what we saw in January will happen again because it's happened before.
That is to say - every couple of seasons a new team has to be brought in.
    No long term building.

We'll nivver build long term, not with the wages we can afford. Anyone any good will be gone within 1 season of looking good. Best get used to it.

Relegation fodder, but far more expensively assembled team with a 20 odd goal striker, and currently in better form than us.

I don't see that as embarrassing, considering the players we had missing today, and losing Roberts at half time without a like for like replacement.

You were there mate. Nothing embarrassing about it. I thought we were decent and saw some great signs moving forward. Robbo was a big miss, makeshift back four didn't cope with Abraham who was a class laiker.

Injuries are unfortunate, but they should be manageable within reason. How the hell have we got into a situation where one player is unavailable (Jackson) and suddenly we have no central defensive cover? It isn't bad luck that we haven't got standard depth.

We are in this situation because over the last few years a suitable buyer has not come in to buy the club. Our owner is wealthy but not wealthy enough to compete with others at this level, I'm sure our CEO had to leave for reasons that were valid and best not to be made public. The January 3 wanted to leave for big money end of, the team have performed well and I have enjoyed watching this season and our policy of buy and develop has been successful money in the bank and safe in the championship, the plan has to be small improvements year on year until we reached the premiership.
The most important part to everything is that we have an owner that has done this club proud who is terminally I'll and dying, any potential buyer or incoming CEO will know this and to be honest will wait it out as his passing will change things. I think we should thank the board ,hecky and the players for our best championship performance in a number of years and what is embarrassing is the moaning on this forum and twitter.

Finishing a season strongly doesn't always mean we will be bad next season. Psychologically it was job done in Feb and the players have taken their foot off the gas. I don't think you can judge us on these last couple of months how we will be next season while they are already on the beach

The season we stayed up with Flitcrift we finished the season with promotion winning form yet got relegated the season after without a fight.
