    Not at all - I just won’t get excited about people I’ve never seen play or even heard of. Until I’ve seen them and they are good. I wasn’t excited about Werling, Hamouir, or Mostto, and equally I wasn’t excited about De Zeeuw, Marcelle or Ferenzi. It’s completely unknown.

    Why would anyone want us to sign players like Treacy? That’s like saying we’d all want Mido esque signings. There is a plentiful pool of successful proven talent. Hignet, Redfearn and and Hendrie are three of my personal favourite ever players who had proven at Oldham (think they were old first division then) and Middlesbrough that they could play at this level. There are good and bad examples of every type of signing.

    So that’s it then? Punts from the lower leagues or abroad and ignore any other choices? And accept the high levels of wastage?

    You said you weren’t getting uppity but you clearly are when folk don’t **** themselves blind over players we don’t even know the names of let alone know owt abart

    Just remember that when you're typing, we risked £1 MILLION on a league 2 player with a broken leg, after you claimed we couldn't afford to risk 750k on that league's top scorer. Fees have also changed at Barnsley FC and not only after this takeover.

    All I said was I doesn’t understand how people can say ‘meh’.

    I haven’t commented on how good I think he’ll be. But I also not saying ‘meh’.

    It’s hilarious by the way the only examples people are giving are from the 90s

    You need to remember that every signing now is by definition "exciting".

    These are "exciting times".

    There is a tide raising all ships.

    Because the 90’s are perhaps the last time we had an open mind on recruitment or could compete for a certain quality of signing.

    Are you saying that it’s now the only way to recruit for us? It’s a bit myopic and smacks of something a bit off...

    I can’t recall the last signing I was excited by to be honest. Most of em I know nowt abart given I have very little interest in any football beyond us.

    They were players of experience who we signed and saved us from a similar relegation fight that we find ourselves in now. I know you’re a bit simple but do try to keep up Christopher.
