Raheem keeps his place. Loftus-Cheek in as expected for the injured Dele Ali.

Surely last chance saloon for him at this world cup. Over 1000 days without a goal is some record.

They look absolutely roasting in that heat.

Panama looking very passionate with their anthem.... did have a "we've made this song up 5 mins ago" feel to it, though....

John, we’re playing a back three. It doesn’t suit a traditional centre half. Walker is the perfect candidate for the role.

Davies plays there for Spurs, Azpilicueta for Chelsea, Abidal did for Barcelona, Neville for England etc.

Walker has already said himself he doesn’t want to play there and his lack of knowledge of the position showed in the first game. Him and concrete boots Maguire will get found out in the knockout rounds.

Couldn’t care less what Walker says. Of course he wants to play in Trippier’s position bombing forward.

As for Maguire, he’s an excellent footballer who will only get better. I love that he tries to play the right way. Gone are the days of central defenders just launching it.

That’s all well and good but against any pace he’s done defensively. Bang average centre half.

You couldn’t care what he says but the evidence shows it’s not his best position. Quality.

Against any pace he’s fine as he’s one of the fastest in world football. As for Maguire, he’s in a back three which provides extra cover even if he’s beaten for pace. Who would you have replaced him with? Cahill’s towing a caravan.

Walker offers an excellent option at RCB, far better option than a traditional CB.

Jones is a much better option than Maguire.

We’ll agree to disagree on that one, Wiggy.

Ones a certain starter under Mourinho when fit for a reason and the other is jobbing away in mid table.

    That’s completely irrelevant.

How is it? One is first choice for a champions league team having won many honours and the other is in mid table. If he was upto Jones standard he would be at a top four team.

They both ordinarily play in a 4-4-2 in completely different teams with different players and different mentalities. England are playing 3-5-2 and are winning 4-0 with a penalty to make it 5.

    England are not playing 4-3-3.

Typo, you know exactly what I mean given the previous posts relating to a back three. If that’s all you’ve got then you’re clearly done.
