I had the pleasure of the great man's company on a handful of occasions. Humble, unassuming and all the time in the world for you. A hero to me watching the Reds in the 90's for what he did as a coach. I was brought up on tales of his days as a centre half who should have reached the very top. But in his company, he was just Eric. And I received a number of telephone calls from him over the last few years. He'd always speak to me as though we'd known each other forever. I last spoke to him late last year. He'd just call up for a chat about the Reds. I wish he'd call me again. @Terry Nutkins, your dad wasn't just your hero. Love you pal. x
