It's supposed to be the 60th anniversary of the euro's, which makes no sense since the first one was in 1958 which would be 62 years when euro 2020 rolls around, unless there counting it from when the qualifiers started

    Qualifying started in 1958
The first finals were in 1960

    shame on you SD !

but with almost 4 sheep per person in Wales it's not surprising that a bit of sh... sha….. goes on . In fact I'm hoping for a nice pair of welly boots and Velcro gloves for Christmas.

And if you don't know want the welly boots are for then pm me - may upset some BBSers if I go into detail!!

does seem a tad unfair that some countries play all their group matches at 'home' -- big
England in this fortunate position as are Italy (Wales group)

I think England have a difficult group. Czech Republic and Croatia will be no push overs.

Wales applied for this also, Infact as recent as two weeks ago Wales were on standby if Russia had to be thrown out due to investigations from WADA. Wales tried and failed to get these benefits.

I do totally agree with you that it's horrendous planning though. I'd much rather it be in sole country.

I gather that when the initial draw was made Russia and Ukraine's names were deliberately kept apart because as the two countries 'don't like each other!' there may be trouble if they had to play each other.

the next round is unfair and completely crazy - e.g. we have Croatia and the Czech Republic playing in Glasgow - Wales and Switzerland flying to Azerbaijan to play their game
Some countries play all their games at home - e.g. England and Italy whilst other qualifying countries like Wales and Finland have no home game but play their 3 group matches away.

Wales play 2 games in Azerbaijan and the final - probably most important group game against Italy in Rome. Italy already having played two (home) matches in Rome.
    Level playing field ??

I wouldn’t read too much into that tbh .
We were clear favourites for the 2022 WC but we forgot to factor in the corrupt ***** than ran/runs the decision making .
It’s no different now whether we have the best facilities/resources etc they’ll either want to bleed us dry for the privilege and make our best hospitality for their entourage.
