Hecky was completely honest with the answers he gave. The major news from it had a caveat, which was to let the club make the announcement, rather than it coming from elsewhere. Paul explained how frustrated he was last year with all the better players being sold for both less than their market value and, more importantly, less than the value they brought to the team. However, with the new board being keen to increase the income streams from a variety of areas & invest in the Academy, he was full of enthusiasm for the short and long term future of the club. He also mentioned that the database used by the club is a really helpful tool if they want additional information on a potential new player who has come to their attention. A special mention for Paul Walker, too, who I felt handled the evening very well with his questioning and humour. On a personal note, barnsley66 was great company, as was Sparky, & it was wonderful to meet and chat with J. again. If there's a nicer person on the BBS, then I've yet to meet them.
