Always couldn't stand them for being so arrogant. Then they stole Danny Wilson away. I'll never forgive them for it.
It is mate. Think we have about a 5-6% ethnic population, the majority of which are Poles and eastern Europeans economic migrants. A coloured face is more common than at one time, but still something of a rarity for a town of this size.
Not the case here mate. It's getting more diverse, but it's not exactly been wlecomed by a lot of people. I understand that the BNP are targeting every ward in the next local elections, and they only do that where they think they stand a chance. Sad really, when a traditionally socialist town with life-long Labour voters is being targeted by the far-right as a potential win.
Rivals? bluebeard you have opened up a can of worms....... Personally for me: Sheff Weds - Hate the Barstewards! All Barnsley-born supporters of the Owls are smug cants and seem to take joy in belittling the very town they live in. Furthermore; from my own experiences, i have noticed that most Oqls' supporters i have been in touch with have occupations such as dole inspectors etc. Leeds - Arrogant *****! Think we are a samll club and noneworthy of their vitriol.......... Fair enough point cos they have Man Utd in another county and er, Bradford maybe, but whenever we beat them (which was regular at one stage) they got the right hump. Attacked our disabled stand one year. Sheff Utd - *******! Think they're a big club but come a poor second to their smug neighbours. Dislike them cos they're Sheffield, end of -some people associate them with being the working class team of Sheffield as opposed to their 'heavenly' neighbours. Huddersfield - If i'm honest i don't mind Huddersfield but due to the amount of games we've had i'd put them as next, plus they border the town's boundary. Bradford - Absolutely horrible place to visit - shitehole!!!! Bad experiences in the 70's etc. Not much afterwards but, there you go, my opinion. Rotherham/ Doncaster - Local rivals but i don't take them too seriously. Back in the mid 70's Donny were bigger than Barnsley for a 3 years or so, and Rotherham had a period (1980 -83) where we had a few ding dongs, but after that.......... that was it! Further afield........... there's always been a thing with Grimsby - not me personally - but there seems to have been quite a bit of mither down the years with them.
I dont think he is but you never can tell take Nick griffin. Seems like such a nice man, and his daughters so sweet and innocent you could take them home to your mum. Then they open their mouths and the vitriol comes out
