Pilot events to be scaled back and possibly scrapped. I dont see fans back in Oakwell for the foreseeable future unfortunately.
Unfortunately those fckwits.(eg conspiracy theorists, young uns, Not all I might add) That want the freedom to go round ignoring safety guidelines have not only brought this on themselves. Rest of us suffer n’all. Those that organise raves fined £10k ( making thousands on entrance fees) jail the two hats. Might think twice.
Have to rely on Boris to spend 100 billion wisely...... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...-on-covid-testing-moonshot-leaked-papers-show
I work in a pub and round here we had some close over the weekend due to a young lass going out even though she had tested positive. I called out two weeks ago and I couldn't believe how crammed in some pubs were with one even having people doing karaoke. The blame often goes on young people using different pubs etc but the establishments not adhering to the guidelines are just as much to blame giving people places to break the rules.
I would go to the new pop up George Spicer stall we are getting down Oakwell for when the fans are back and try some of his olives for twenty minutes.
I think the point I’m trying to make is its pie on the sky headline grabbing stuff . It just wouldn't work in practice, and he’s prepared to spoff 100bn on it (the entire education budget) - notwithstanding the technology isn’t there....nor materials......nor track record. It’s insane. the leaked paper suggests it’s their only hope of avoiding a second lockdown, save for a vaccine. That’s very worrying.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...October-1-little-1-000-supporters-let-in.html That would be dismal if so few were allowed back. France for example have three times more infections daily and a rise in hospital admissions and already have fans back.
Your first paragraph kind of confirms the first part of your last paragraph. The middle bit is also valid. Not that I'm a grammar policeman lol. Anyway, too many flout the rules, young and old. And in between....
Watched an interview with the Villa chairman a couple of days ago and he stated that in a stadium that holds 42,000 they could only have allowed 6,000 fans in (whilst adhering to social distancing). So I guess we would have had our attendance capped at 3,000 ish.
