£2,917 per month is the figure I've seen.

That is the maximum figure you can claim.

That's what Redstone was asking, wasn't he?

Apparently this is now due to be announced tomorrow, rather than today... apparently finalising the details and “making sure the cash gets to the people that need it as soon as possible”

Hope they do what they need to.

Certainly seems to have all gone quiet. I'm hoping they do the right thing. I'm so anti Boris it is unreal, but I just want to get behind everything, do some volunteering & put party politics away for the duration.

He mentioned a few times in today's press conference that it was to be announced tomorrow by Rishi Sunak.

I would imagine it will be backdated to March 1st.

Haven't watched it yet, thanks for the update. Have been keeping myself busy helping a couple of people in the front line with groceries, & dog walking & one self isolating in my flats whilst sticking to all the government guidelines. This includes me having my own collars & leads & name tags with my number on for the dogs & picking them up from their gardens, not entering the house & keeping at least 2 metres from everyone all the time while I'm out. You can be responsible without staying home all the time, although it is best most people do just that. I personally haven't seen anyone flouting the guidelines, although of course some are, undoubtedly. It's right they get what is coming to them. This is no joke. All together now.

I'm quite expecting that there will be fck all for the likes of me.
Even 50 quid a week would go a long way to keeping me and wifey going. I've done a few online benefit applications to see if I/we qualify and at the end of the endless pages.... computer says no. Fck off picture framer. Go soak your head. Who do you think you are. Are you real. You want help. Piss off.
I can't see Rishi Wotsit helping me.
I'll let you know if I'm wrong.

    All credit to you, mate.

If there's one benefit to this, it's that it's bringing the country and world to some extent, together.

Boris announced today that over 400,000 people have signed up to the NHS volunteer program. That's just incredible.

FYI, he mentioned that the delay in the help for self employed was due to complexities of the system - aka. it's a lot easier for employed people on PAYE, they're having to develop new systems for this, but are trying to make sure it gets to the people that need it as fast as possible. (can't remember if he said so in the commons or in his press conference)

The rumour going around is 80% of your average income over the last 3 years. Again, that's just a rumour, but that's what's going around.

It’ll all come down to how the self employed do their tax returns

The difference between PAYE and self employed is that the former have a trackable history whilst the latter do not.
Income for employed is different from turnover for s/e.
My s/e turnover might be 30,000 per year, for example, but my profit might be zero after expenses and personal allowance are taken out. Employed people have a net pay on the bottom line of their payslip and it is highly unlikely to be zero !
I honestly don't know how the govt will sort it as our s/e profit, the equivalent of net pay, is so variable it's untrue.
Anyway I can but hope for some help, any amount will do right now. Anything is better than nowt.

I really hope that all those who have paid what they owe, filled in their assessments and tax returns honestly and fairly and not tried to cheat the system get as much help as possible.
I also hope that those who have done everything they can to avoid tax and to steal money from our NHS get **** all

You should declare what you are earning, if you are self employed. I do. There will be some that have started up recently that may be unfortunate, if this rule is applied. I hope this will be an ongoing process.

    Absolutely true, of course.

I don’t know how it will work, I’m just repeating what I’ve heard. Hopefully tomorrow brings good news for you all

    Totally agree with you both.
I too am self employed, we pay our taxes and will qualify for what we are entitled to, it’s as simple as that for me.
At this moment in time we are not even sure if we will bother trying to claim at all, our current thought process is to just transfer our own money over as a loan and continue as normal as possible, with a view of claiming back later.
We understand there are genuine people out there that don’t have our luxury and we hope for them(we’ve all been there and could again) that they are treated fairly and with dignity to enable not to just survive but also continue to trade again in the near future.
Unfortunately there are far too many out there that don’t and it will be them who you will hear making the most noise on Social media about not fair etc.

Irrespective of any savings that you might have or someone else's earnings in the household?

I would assume so, yes, but I don’t know for sure.
