When we leave the eu, am I still allowed to sing “a mouse lived in a windmill in old Amsterdam” in my own head whilst the wife is nagging me?

    600,000 immigrants in 4 years.

Some of who recently killed a young girl and ate part of her vagina.

    Shouldn't really be a surprise.

Although Berlesconi can't really be called "far-right" and it is his coalition.

    Corruption
    Nepotism from those in power

By young girl I assumed you meant child but searches find nothing. I mean Presumably you don't mean the 13 year old child who was murdered and her killer locked up just under 2 years ago do you? I mean you can't do because her killer was a born and bred Italian.

You could possibly mean the woman who murdered a two year old girl just before Christmas but I don't think you do as the murderer was a born and bred Italian.

Do you mean the ONE Nigerian drug dealer who has been arrested after he killed and dismembered or of his 18 year old drug customers? Though I can find no reports of any vagina eating.
If you mean an adult woman then it's a bit hard to narrow down considering there were over 100 women murdered in Italy last year and only a tiny fraction of those were by migrants

Struggling with this post - are you accusing Supertyke of being an Ostrich with his head in the sand because he questioned a statement made which is almost certainly factually incorrect?

I don't think the one off murder of the "young girl" precipitated this. Incidentally she was involved in prostitution and drugs and not the young 'innocent' some fascist extremists, in an attempt to gain political capital, portrayed her to be (albeit that is irrelevant in the context of what happened to her) . No-one I have spoken to here support the actions of 1 extremist know for his fascist beliefs. Most were shocked as Macerata is a relatively small town in what is quite a rural part of Italy and "that sort of thing doesn't happen here"

600k migrants is not 'it' either as , in spite of what is being portrayed, Italians are generally very tolerant and fair minded.
What has caused the rise of the Right? Well Berlusconi's alliance get support mainly from the wealthier North based on promises of a flat tax rate (favouring the higher earners). The Central and South of the country is where 5 star got most of its support and they are only right of centre not extreme Right as some media suggests.

The disillusionment with the current status quo and dissatisfaction with Government and the EU comes from several issues and is not driven by nationalism nor racism. Mass migration is a major factor but it is more about inaction of EU and Government to support communities impacted by it.
The fact that the EU has left Italy (already financially in dire straits) high and dry when it comes to supporting the high volume of migrants landing on the shores has angered Italians as has Germany Austria and France closing the borders to migrants crossing for Italy and sending many back.
    .
Large numbers have ended up in hotels and B& B accommodation in rural areas already suffering from high unemployment and many displaced due to the devastation caused by the 2016 Earthquakes (many locals still living in temporary shelters and accommodation) with little or no government support.

There is high national unemployment (32.5% youth announced last week) and the 11.1% overall. (large areas of the South 23-29%) an increase in poverty (nearly a third of Italians are at risk of poverty).

With cronyism and corruption in Italian politics e.g. Renzi's failed 'power grab' last year disguised as a "modernisation and streamlining of bureaucracy" in trying to centralise government , give himself more control and remove much funding from local authorities it is no wonder Italians are turning away from his democratic party and the old order. Berlusconi has been snubbed too, hence the Right's Simone Di Stefano claiming that they have the right to govern. Neither 5 star or they want out of the EU but both consider the euro past its sell by date and will demand changes to the EU's constraints on financial controls on EU states. However, the rise in concern over mass immigration can be firmly placed at the door of the EU and Govt unless you believe two thirds of the Italian population have suddenly become racist, nazi fascists!

Are Berlusconi and 5 Star any further to the right than the current Conservative/DUP government of the UK?

Read this (below) from somewhere and it is quite a neat summary of things here.. The last paragraph is also my view, (contrary to a few on here who think I am 'racist and xenophobic' ) given their inability to distinguish between the concerns over the problems caused by mass illegal migration and legitimate (and welcome) freedom of movement which benefits society.

"For Lega, Africa begins in Rome and is the party for rich Northern Italy against the south. Lega became the strongest in the center Right coalition putting the traditional leader Forza Italia in a weak position, and driving the center right coalition further towards the far right.
The 5 star movement became a major factor on a promise of a minimum income, fight against corruption, direct democracy, and many other traditional center left programmes, but also combined with traditional right wing economical policies as lower corporate tax etc.
The traditional center left lost many votes to 5 star.
With 3 blocks not even internally agreeing on much, Italian policies are once again in for unstable governments.
The role of the EU was merely the role of the scapegoat and Italian immigration concerns are not the internal EU free movement which benefits Italy, but the illegal immigration from northern Africa, mainly due to the Libyan disaster.
    "

So an 18 year old isn't a young girl?

And Italians should accept cannibals into the country? Diversity innit.

No wonder the left can't understand the result, they're delusional.

Are native Italian Cannibals any better than imported cannibals? How about Leonarda Cianciulli (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonarda_Cianciulli) or Lino Renzi (http://www.gazzettadelsud.it/news/english/55255/Parts-of-chopped-up-woman-cooked--frozen.html) or Stefano Brizzi (http://www.italianinsider.it/?q=node/4986).

What about the Italian guy who took random pot-shots at people he "thought" were migrants putting six in hospital? - Or should we just ignore that?

Did you actually read Tekkytykes post.
leaving aside the fact he doesnt state she isnt a young girl - I would say she isnt
she is a young adult or a teenager - not that thats relevant.
and of course they shouldnt accept cannibals into the country but get a grip you have picked up on the murder of a prostitute involved in drugs and used this as a basis for a whole racial based theme.

Hardly a pensioner was she? Had only just become an adult.

If you had an 18 year old daughter you would still call her a young girl.

Anyway this isn't the point, just more distraction and whataboutery.

Massive immigration plus high youth unemployment plus cannibalistic murder equals win for the right. not far-right, Berlusconi is no more right-wing than Blair is, he's a globalist, which is probaly why nothing will actually change.

I don't know if she was a prostitute and how is that an excuse anyway? That's like something Peter Sutcliffe might have said.

Youth Unemployment in Italy has fallen 3.3% in 4 months to January. When you take out full-time students, it drops to under 20%, although like in the UK, a lot are trapped in irregular contracts (like ZHCs).

Announced on the TV news at the weekend that Youth unemployment was ' down' to 32.5% and as you say a lot is in insecure/ part time jobs. One guy made the news as he runs a cheap coach service for people who cannot afford to travel from the South to job interviews in the North. TV showed a bus full of graduates travelling from as far South as Napoli heading up to a town in the North for a nursing job selection process . The queue when they arrived was round the block for one vacancy. Approximately 2000 applicants. Some of the passengers do this round trip starting at 3am on a weekly basis High unemployment in the poorer South better prospects in the richer industrial North. Milan/Turin region has some of the highest average personal income figures in Europe.

Still doesn't make economic sense to import 600,000 mainly young men from Africa when you have high youth unemployment, it's just pure open borders fanaticism from the EU and the UN.

They can't go on screwing the native populations of Europe without expecting some kind of backlash.
