Well not really. But he is bang on the money... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...Graham-Linehan.html?__twitter_impression=true
Actually looking at everyone including the SA cricketers dressed in pink, maybe more men dressing as they wish without ridicule might stop this nonsense!
Criticising the authoritarian left even though he was of that ilk himself on Twitter for years, and quite a Twitter bully to boot.
A good article, thanks for posting. Well meaning, PC brigade members can't see the problem they're contributing to...
Not one mention of women who suffer from body dysphoria, but of course it’s spun to be all about women. and it’s in the daily shjtrag.
Very one-sided - not that you'd expect much more from that rag. He comes across as distinctly unpleasant on twitter, which seems to be his preferred platform of attack. Any kernels of truth in his arguments (and I have to admit that I think there are some, although it's a complicated issue with a lot of subtleties that need to be handled with care) are very much overshadowed by that. I see that these complications don't seem to have occurred to some of the knee-jerk common sense crusaders on here, though.
I agree that there are issues in this whole thing, but please don't take Linehan's interpretation of it at face value. I'm worried that this whole issue is going to turn into a pitched battle between 'ThErE aRe OnLy TwO gEnDeRs!!!' TERFs and people who think that everybody should be able to self-identify with no exceptions. There's a hell of a lot in the middle. It does have the mildly amusing effect of putting a lot of third wave feminists on the same platform as the extreme right wing though, which is always entertaining.
Nothing wrong with being a feminist. Womens rights were hard fought for. I hope that transgender rights are recognised but they mustn't come at the expense of vulnerable women and there is the irony that just as women are getting to be professional football/ rugby players you've the risk that the playing field could be altered.
Agreed on all counts. My last sentence was just a light-hearted point about people who agree with the likes of Greer and Bindel sometimes ending up using exactly the same arguments as the decidedly anti-feminist far right when it comes to trans issues (and vice-versa). Like when Lauren Southern was complaining that the alt-right don't treat women very well.
