Wonder if she went one step further than Theresa May and actually spoke to some of the residents?

Yes she did, which makes May look even more ridiculous for using the lie that she didn't meet people for security reasons.

Maybe they could organise lessons in the use of full stops.

Maybe they. Could organise lessons. In the use. Of full stops

It did make me laugh that the only place there should have been a full stop in Tyrone's post didn't have one.

Criticised if she does, condemned if she doesn't.

I dont agree its a waste, The royal visit will be a real benefit to many of the surviving victims at least psychologically

The Queen always visits survivors and communities when tragedy such as this strikes.
I'm not a Royalist by any means, but fair play to her, she does turn up and people are strengthened by her.
If she'd not visited she would have been criticised.
Strange that May didn't visit any of the community, she really does struggle with the 'ordinary ' man/woman in the street.
There's a lot of anger festering there.
Even Sky gave Andrea Leadsom a hard time , repeatedly telling her she wasn't answering the question, which she wasnt!
Interviewer repeatedly asking why the PM didn't visit the families etc!
My God Rupert must be severely pissed off with Theresa because it's been running on a loop on and off all day !

They are all going because they think it makes them look good

Not the Queen, whether you like her or not or agree with the monarchy or not you should have seen enough of her to know she doesnt do things just to look good. She does things because she believes its her duty as a monarch. In this case I agree with her.

I am far from a royalist, but you are correct. She visits to show support for the victims and has been doing since the Blitz. It is just a "figurehead" visit she has no power to help.

The likes of Leadsom and May should be finding out what the victims need and making things happen. Corbyn and Khan both did, but are more limited in what they can do.

She didn't go, or indeed any of them go, to the iconic Grimethorpe Pit or Kellingley Piit when they shut.
Charlie never donned his whellies during the miners strike - like he regularly does when owt goes amiss in farming.

Families burning to death is a bit different to a pit closing
