should any videos, cartoons, films, pictures etc. etc. be moderated by yourself or other moderators before they can be put on this site?
I didn't catch what was posted but I think I've worked out what it was. I think 99% of people on here are decent enough to not post stuff like that and you have to bear in mind the admins all probably have jobs and do this voluntarily
Hi @Red-Taff. It’s not practical to do that. We aren’t always here and to be honest it’s rare inappropriate videos etc are linked. It does happen of course but if it does hopefully we can be alerted before too much harm is done and take the appropriate action. Been off the board all evening but was there one you had in mind?
I have no issue with anything to do with football being posted on this excellent site. I'm surprised Admin doesn't either forbid or at least monitor non-football stuff. Is Admin happy that anyone can post any visual material they like regardless of it having obscene or blasphemous language or being inappropriate - and this stuff stays on the site. A visual image was posted last night - one that shouldn't have been posted - it took protests from other users to get the OP to ask for it to be removed - which it was. I think non-football stuff should be forbidden or it has to be monitored.
It is monitored. All the time. And that's what the alert button is for so admin can see anything deemed to be as you describe. The image was live for maybe ten minutes in total and before it was removed by the poster I was about to remove it anyway. I'd say ten minutes is good going for a volunteer run message board.
No different to any other forum. The report button is feature. Unfortunately even if the talk is pure football racism still rears it's ugly head.
but why have we racist messages - obscene language - blasphemous videos - cartoons on this site - still there - NOT removed. Are you saying that if no member reports a post it stays on the board?
If admin see it and deem it offensive it's removed without an alert. If you see something and deem it offensive you press alert and that brings it to our attention. Feels like you're on a one person crusade with this one? It's been a busy week personally, but I can't even think what you might be referring to. Our swear filter is pretty good as well to be honest and cuts out a lot of bad language, and forces people who want to use it to be creative with how they spell potentially offensive words. That lessons the impact, in my opinion.
Can’t see what the OPs problem Is tbh . The post was rounded in straight away by lots of posters which in itself says a lot about the vast majority of posters on here . We may have our differences Politically, players , formations etc etc but the vast majority are decent people and in that post it shone through . The board almost polices itself compared to other social media and forums , One of the best forums on the internet imo .
The Fried Chicken and Illiterate Delroy post is still there in all its "glory". I reported that one yesterday. I presume it's not deemed offensive enough to remove?
I wasn't really with it yesterday or online so I've only just seen that in the last 15 minutes. I'm also meant to be working. The last alert before that was the end of May, and since the start of 2020 we've had 30 alerts, of which 20% were about a Phillip Schofield thread which was deleted completely. Not many for being halfway through the year.
There Is a report button below every post. If something is inappropriate click the button and it will be dealt with.
Posting racist views is quite rightly a criminal offence. Blasphemy and obscene language aren't really. So you'll have to live with those I'm afraid.
