And also another indication that the takeover is dead in the water.. Why would you give someone a pay rise if you were leaving?... You'd leave it up to an incoming person to sort..
Not necessarily. Hecky is our top asset. BFC without him is a considerably less attractive proposition than BFC with him. At Nice, Mr Lee pretty much has nothing to do with the day to day running of the club as far as I'm aware. I don't expect it to be any different at Oakwell if he finally takes control.
Not if it looked like it was dragging on a bit and you were worried about losing one of your prize assets you wouldn't. Especially if a new prospective buyer had indicated they would be pissed off if we let it happen
As already said. He is a massive asset who is going great to be wanted by many clubs I would imagine. The current owners are looking after the interests of the club and of Hecky personally. By signing a new deal if the new owner wanted there own manager in then Hecky would have to be paid out of his contact. (Hence looking after both club and Hecky).
But the new owners might have their own man in mind regardless of how highly we rate Hecky. They're not going to want to come in and pay up a brand new contract in order to bring someone in. I also don't think the current owner would be responsible for looking after Hecky's interests after they have sold the club.
Give PH a new deal for x years on much higher money, another club comes sniffing, the compensation is far higher, we don't lose our manager without a hell of a fight... and loads of dosh.
Huh?? Surely that could equally mean the takeover is still very much on the cards and the new owners (and it has already been stated that they will not be involved in day to day running of club) want to make sure one of the prized assets is not lost to another club. Is Ganaye not in the same situation as Hecky? Why would they necessarily sack the encumbent CEO? This could well indicate that the deal is close, they have had words, and sanctioned salary negotiations in the event the deal goes through. Just saying.
When Mr Lee took over at Nice , they did not interfere with the management of the team and it's back office administration. That's what it sounds like will happen in our case. I genuinely feel that the takeover is still very much on. I've been following the proposed takeover at Newcastle very closely. Like us there's quite an amount of fan interest/speculation and comments in the local press around how much Ashley will/will not sell for. Because of the non disclosure agreement , like us, the would be buyers and the Club itself are not commenting on the progress or otherwise of the deal. We need to be patient and hopefully eventually it will be rewarded.
Zero relevance to the status of the takeover for me. It’s a straight BAU discussion. They could easily put a clause in around any potential takeover.
