The OCG nice meltdown has been happening for a while and it was only a matter of time. reading there forum from time to time ,they have been calling for fans to boycott going the games and not to buy any merchandise The owners called a meeting after the summer transfer window and said they needed to take the money out of the club to pay there debt back they had bought the club for. Rivere disagreed but was outvoted by them he pleaded with them asked them not to and invest some of it back in new players ,they refused. They told him they needed the money back to pay back the money they bought the club for, and told him they haven't the financial power to move the club forward. He has done interviews basically calling them liars , saying not a word they said to him when buying the club and since then was the truth, questioning where they got the money from to buy the club ,whose money was it (really) where did it come from as they seemed not to have the money they said they had. And also questioning there right to take money out of the club as no dividend was set up with the sale details Rivere held a press conference on friday afternoon , among things said our vision is not there vision he told Chien and Co a month and a half ago ether you leave or we are leaving. and told them to find people to replace them as they were leaving he said Chien and US shareholders refuse to invest money or money made by transfers in the club and have blocked any attempt to buy players in the winter transfer window and are actively trying to sell other players also said he is actively looking for a european investor to buy the club back off them and hopes this will be done before may. Paul conway made a statement this morning he wouldnt talk about what rivere had said. But said we will strengthen the team but it must be with within our means and our balanced budget. we are here long term and his replacement would not be announced untill after the winter transfer window has ended and thanked the support of the fans ! two totally opposite statements
Interesting read. Got any links to info etc? The 2 clubs are linked by owners, but the management setup and ownership model I believe is quite different for them both. Interesting to see what happens.
