It's something that the dictator of turkey has aimed for with more persistence over the last few years.

Given Turkey cannot meet some of the entry criteria its visa free travel inside the Euro Zone.

You can see people's concern though about the sheer volume of Asia Minor and African migrants entering Europe, the overwhelmingly majority are Muslim...

That might say more about you than me. Seriously though, I just think of it as a lazy remark designed to besmirch leave voters in general. It's simply not a reason that anybody I know had for voting to leave (other than the Barnsley resident who was interviewed on the local news just after the referendum result).

I think everyone missed the emoticon showing that it wasn't a serious post. It was a joke about the Barnsley person interviewed, plus the multitude of people I saw giving it as a reason on facebook.

I reckon it's the reason that a fair few people had but nowhere near the numbers that people imagine there were. I think that i work with quite a few people who are a bit dim.

At some point someone has to say something about how labour would run the country better than they did last time they were in rather than just sniping at the obvious failings of the tories that we can see with our own eyes.
The tories will walk this with their eyes shut because labour are a dead duck and no other party even exist. This is one of the most important times in recent political history as the majority of the country have voted for change yet we have a one party political system. Christ on a bike

We hear alot about how badly Labour ran the country last time, there was a worldwide collapse of banks, yet the debt has been tripled under these tw@ts and we never hear alot about that, this election will change that as there is a huge movement behind Corbyn which has to match the Media, be interesting & closer than what people think, mark my words.

Pakistan (pop. 195M) and Bangladesh (170M) are both 90+% Muslim and both have problems with radical extremism. India is about 15% Muslim (170million), Malaysia is 60% Muslim (18M), Sri Lanka 10% (2M) so between those you are looking at somewhere upwards of 500M potential Muslim immigrants from the Asian members of the Commonwealth. That is before you start on the African countries like Nigeria (90M Muslim), Kenya (4M), Ghana (4M) and the rest.

That isn't a problem because of our shared values according to Sir Nigel, but Europeans (72% Christian, 18% Atheist/Agnostic) don't have the same shared values as us (59% Christian, 25% Atheist). BTW Both the EU and the UK are under 5% Muslim.

Then again, the only Europeans that Sir Nigel likes is the women he is currently fornicating with.

Oh yeah, the majority of those billion or so Commonwealth citizens from Africa and Asia are on much less than even the poorest EU migrants, so if you believe that migrants force wages down expect them to be forced down a lot further.

    *sigh*

So, we'll go through it again then. That's because of Thatcherite right-to-buy policy from the 80's, and the continual failure of all governments since to replace council housing stock/build enough homes anywhere in the country. There is an absolutely chronic shortage of HOUSING, not space. This is due to governments not building their own, and companies not being incentivised to fill gaps/stop profiteering (usually due to vested interest from politicians - seen the numbers of them that are landlords?) from a short-space market.

A grand total of 7% of this island is built upon. If you discount roads and gardens, it's 3%. The bullshitting about 10x10 boxes and too many people being here is a pain in the arse of a myth that's very easy to buy into.

See above. India has 170+Million Muslims with the majority on significantly less than even the poorest Europeans (plus around 800M Hindu). Although that was probably his plan. Replace the cheap EU labour with cheaper Asian labour so more money for the rich and wages driven down and less employment for the poor. Indian culture also has a tendency to say "Yes Sir", even when it can't be done (or they don't know how to do it) rather than the UK tendency to say "Hang on. That's a problem!".

The thing is there would have to be a wholesale change in immigration law for that to happen.

We don't need 200,000 new houses a year. We need to build up again (or down) for single bedroom flats/apartments like they do on the continent. We also need to bring public transport back under single control and have a fully integrated and affordable service like they have in London. It shouldn't take twice as long and cost 2-3x as much to take the bus to work as it does the car.

Not one party looks after the average Joe in society.. Either the Tories who traditionally look after the more wealthy or now the far left Corbyn party who are purely focused on those they say are in poverty. However their politics may just bring the average working class family also into poverty when he hikes up our taxes to pay for his extreme policies. I really want someone to stand as an independent in Barnsley and represent our views rather than a national party agenda. I understand that he/she would become somewhat a lone wolf against these big parties but any vote for Tory or Labour at the moment is a wasted vote as neither care about Barnsley as a town or its community makeup. I've not mentioned the lib dems as they just seem to be pointless jumping from what they see is a popular issue to another... Tuition fees (hoodwinking the students last time, brexit this time).. Plus look at the comments that muppet the lib dems put up in Barnsley central last time, basically insulted the people that live in the town..

Why? We already allow over 250,000 non-EU migrants in every year (who are more likely to stay than EU migrants and less likely to be net contributors). David Davies has indicated that we need to continue with current levels of immigration, and the government want to stop free movement from the EU, so that would suggest we will be increasing non-EU migration to take up the extra spaces. Expect somewhere around 400,000 non-EU migrants per year within five years.

On a separate topic, I wonder how many of the self-employed that were unhappy with the changes to NI in the last budget (before it was reversed) will vote Tory in the election then be upset when the amount of NI they pay is increased in the first budget....

Maybe, but most of the people who live in that 7% own cars and drive about on our massively over congested roads. Every time we increase the housing stock along with the rising population, more and more roads are built to allow for them. To ignore this in your land use figures is misleading to say the least.
