You can meter the usage of anything surely.

    If not, guesstimate.

Thats what HM Revenue does already.

    Ooooh no, far too tricky.

Just up VAT a bit, extend it to more purchases and abolish income tax.

Not exactly sure how well it might work, but it might be better than the current system.

It would certainly mean that rampant consumerism (Jays unnecessary trampoline purchases for example) would take the hit whereas wood living knit your own types like Tom and Barbara Good would be fine.

RE: If the system allows earnings to go untaxed...

LOL Funny old world isn't it?

I do all the work asked of me and often more. I am not avoiding doing any of it. Yet some people aren't paying all the tax they are asked to pay by the government, but are avoiding paying it. Yet you defend them and moan that i'm the one costing you money. You couldn't have turned your own argument on its head any better.

Isn't avarice a wonderful thing? When Thatcher said there was no such thing as community, she might have been right - at least for those who care little about anyone or anything other than their bank balance.

You can attempt to twist it any way you like.

You’re moralising about the actions of others and their effects on the finances of public funded organisations whilst playing on the internet from your place of work within a public funded organisation and you can’t see the hypocrisy in that? In addition to that you attempt to justify this by stating that your workload doesn't require you to work the full day you're getting paid for. And all this, you claim, with the blessing of your immediate superior. Unbelievable.

The problem isn’t funding, the problem is that too many employees of public funded organisations are skanking a living (although it’s fair to say that most of them would at least have the decency not to spend their paid playtime delivering lessons in the rights and wrongs of the tax system to those whose taxes they’re abusing.)

Acky, Acky, Acky.....if in doubt, ignore the point and talk about Acky. LOL

LOL, you just understand diddly squat about the nature of my job. I could sit here twiddling my thumbs whilst waiting for the current part of my job to finish so i can start the next one. I'd still be doing nothing, but would that make you happier?

The problem isn't funding?! LOL Welcome to WindyWorld!

Those people who are 'skanking a living' are certainly not 'skanking' as much from the system af those not paying what they are asked to pay in tax.

I don't understand how either of you have this much time to be personally offended by anything the other one posts.

Regardless of what jobs you have.

    You here again?

Do you actually do anything for the wage we pay you? There'd be more than enough funding if we sacked all the parasites.
