Girls Rugby League - Players Needed

Featherstone Lionesses are looking for any girls school year 6 or 7 who are interested in joining our new u12s Rugby League team.

Players of all abilities are welcome, even if they have never picked up a rugby ball in their lives. Fully qualified coaching will be given. Coaches are DBS checked with child safeguarding.

Amazing how quickly the girls can learn and progress in such a short space of time. Our u14s played their first game in March with only 2 players having played the game before. On Saturday they lost their first game in 8 matches away to Hull KR.

Women’s and Girls Rugby league is one of the fastest growing sports in the uk, with new teams starting up all the time. We currently have u14’s and u16’s teams and are hoping to keep this going by establishing an u12s team.

I currently coach the u14s and for now will also be coaching the u12s. Training is once per week on Tuesdays. If we can get enough players we will look at arranging friendly matches after the summer holidays where all girls will be given equal game time.
