My mate was running the line at Wembley today. Thankfully no Russian Linesman like decisions so I can mention it now
If it's a pub, then unlikely - I was five years old when my family left Harrogate! I didn't start quite that early!
They had a good one last year when Harrogate hosted the World Road Cycling Championship: "Town full of lycra, we're just a town full of lycra" . I watched them about 4/5 times before lock down and they've got a small (40 people?) singing section but they make a right row - and they've got a good repertoire ! I thinl they must have a dedicated lyrics wfiter amongst them.....
Shame for the community of Harrogate that they have to lose a perfectly good astroturf, but well done to Harrogate Town.
maybe they could sell it on , or use it as a training surface. A lot of fo;k use false grass in their gardens these days.
It is a pub but its called something else now. It had a really bad reputation as did the estate it was on. Its just up the road from Starbeck.
just seen that on TV that they have to change pitch for grass one. Surly artificial surfaces have come on well enough from the early days for them to be allowed again, in the lower leagues at least
I genuinely didn't think there were any rough areas in Harrogate. I must have had a sheltered upbringing!
The Broadacres has been improved but years back it was pretty rough. I suppose like any town of it's size there are a couple of rough areas but generally it's a lovely place.
