Just got round to watching first episode on iplayer ...

Such a tragic thing, but the world now is looking again like a madhouse, with a neofascist apologist in the White House & Islamic Terrorism & Nationalism on the rise.

Great first episode. Humanity needs to stick together.

Watched some footage on this subject a few years ago on some sort of hidden history programme.

Stories of dehumanisation, atrocities and pure heartbreak , a story very much washed over in British history but millions were butchered ,starved or outcast many Indians of all religions serving in the British army and had fought in the 2nd world war were going home to find their families had perished.
    Absolutely heartbreaking .

Sounds interesting. Very much interested in colonial history, took some modules at Uni about India. Important and relevant stuff....

Agree JP. I watched the first episode and have got one recorded. Absolutely fascinating . Sad to see the guy Bim
who was so traumatised he couldn't return and the other guy with Cancer who returned with his nephew to re-trace
his steps. The girl who's Dad escaped with his family by canoe was very moved when she met the old guy who had rowed
him to safety. If it hadn't been for him she wouldn't have been born. Powerful stuff.

I used to deal with a firm who extruded plastics. The owner went out to India to research whether it was financially viable to
relocate their plant out there. He told us how he was affected by the abject poverty he witnessed on that trip and said even
though the Company could have saved a fortune by opening up there, he didn't feel that the lab staff and other key workers
they would need to carry out the process would ever settle, so they ended up shelving the idea.

Tbh I don't think it was ignored as an out of sight out of mind problem .
I think it was more to do with the world (particularly as far as the western media were concerned ) was still in turmoil and preoccupied with the atrocities and aftermath of a devastating war.

In my opinion, whilst ever we have women on the Planet , the human race has a
    chance of surviving.!
