Currently on a bit of a Scotland road trip. Stopped off halfway near Hamilton for an overnight stop. Then batted on up to a tiny village near Skye called Plockton (possibly the most charming village you can imagine) Now halfway through a 4 night stop in Portree on Skye and did a wildlife tour yesterday (saw golden eagles sea eagles and an otter) Off to Dunvegan Castle today and possibly over to Rasaay (home of channel 4s SAS who dares wins) tomorrow to visit the distillery.
Plockton is a wonderful place in a beautiful area. Heard the original 'The Whicker Man' was filmed there.
Sing me a song of a lass that is gone Say, could that lass be I? Merry of soul, she sailed on a day Over the sea to Skye Enjoy your stay - a beautiful part of the world
Very jealous, Have a look at the Quiraing and a walk up the Cuililn mountains whilst you're there (red are far easier than black).
Love the area. Plockton’s a new town built to house crofters kicked off their land for sheep. The idea was they’d take up fishing as a livelihood. It’s got Milton Keynes licked.
Enjoy yourself, just back myself from Skye after a 4 week stay there, look forward to going back next year again.......... here's a few I took from the area
