PJ's at East Ardsley. Skyliner at Crossgates (Leeds) next week....any more recommendations for long range (a hour ish) sit in the car outside chip oyles ? Let's get back to the serious problems in life
Aren't we all off to George Spicer's pad for post match canapés next week? I know I've had my invite.
We used to call in loads round Leeds and surrounds when we worked round there. I care for the missus now due to her health so it's nice to revisit some old chippy haunts. PJ's is one of the best and easiest to get to.
Murgatroyds (not particularly cheap) close to Leeds Bradford airport good but my favourite anywhere is Inghams at Filey (albeit a bit more than an hour) Best anywhere on East coast IMHO. I am a big time Fish and Chip fan 'snob'. They both use beef dripping to fry in which is the key to the best Fish 'n chips and both use Haddock. If you ever get to Inghams Filey do NOT order the extra large like I did the first time as it is ridiculous (don't know how anyopne could eat it all) The standard size is pretty big as it is. Whenever we visit UK it is on my bucket list along with a matchday ticket to t'Well if possible and worth the drive from S. Yorks when we visit family
Best one near us at Hibaldstow. They also cook in dripping which makes the batter so crisp and the fish so meaty. None of this soggy batter and sloppy fish.
Seafront at Saltburn by sea and the one on Pickering, Capplemans........but to be honest you cant beat Wetherby Whaler.....for local consisteng F&C..
