That's exactly the kind of attitude that's causing the problem. Not that I mind you exercising, but you'll find it easier without the chip on your shoulder.
The ones that piss me off are the muscly types that think the tapes round outside gyms are just so they can have more privacy . Seen a few interviewed with the well I'm all right don't give a **** about anybody else outlook
It's not though, is it? I am taking great efforts to keep away from people and fully support the measures taken so far. I think I've left the house once this week other than running. Me going out for a run does absolutely no harm to anyone. Nor is it contributing to people dying. Police the restrictions that are currently in place by all means, but let's not stop people from doing the actions which are absolutely fine and have no downside. It's completely draconian.
Why, what would me running do? I swerve to put 2 metres between me and anyone else. And why would your kids be out if you're so happy for everyone to be fully locked down?
Agreed, but your original response came across as a flippant "up yours" (to Hancock, not to me). Hence my response. Glad to hear that we're on the same side after all.
Instead of letting the minority spoil it for the majority, they should be stricter to those who aren't complying. The press is full of photos of people in parks being told by police to leave when they are stood around or sunbathing or sat on a bench when they should be fined. Dish out more fines to those who are out but not exercising or shopping and those not complying (which is the minority) will soon get the idea.
Yeah I just realised that it might come across as me being dismissive of the severity of the issue which I'm absolutely not. If anyone goes back through my post history they'll see that I was calling for restrictions earlier than most and when people were downplaying the issue. I think that we have to be careful with the extent of the restrictions - for me this would go beyond what is reasonable and would be an unjustifiable fetter on personal liberty.
Again, I agree with you. It's a shame that, as usual, a small minority are going to mess things up for the rest of us.
You're obviously exaggerating just to make your point, but I get the meaning behind it totally. Self isolation is both mentally and physically unbearable at times and were only 2 weeks in. I don't know when this will end but I do know that it'll leave a trail of destruction for years to come. I just hope it's all going to be worth it .
I read it as you are doing your bit by running and cycling I.e. keeping fit, and would be annoyed if that liberty was taken away, because of morons 'social distancing' by sunbathing two metres apart in parks, having a group barbeque, having lock-ins in pubs, lying on the beach etc etc. Some people are respecting it and some are just stupid, unfortunately. Every photo I see of parks in London, it's like nothing's changed apart from the odd face mask. Keep keeping fit @mansfield_red, good for ya
Sooner they do ban it the better. Too many people taking the piss. If they don’t next weekend will be a killer.
Hand **** has gone power mental. He thinks he’s some kind of totalitarian fuhrer, threatening the population with not allowing them out. Who does he think he is?
Simple make the morons breaking the rules do shifts helping out on covid 19 wards until this crisis is over then fit em with tags and make em stay in the house for 12 months apart from going to work and one trip a week to the local supermarket.
