One of the biggest towns in the country and despite all the protests we are losing here in Huddersfield our A&E department. It's sickening that to save money they will now cost lIves. It won't be the last those this afternoon who all voted to shut it hear about it. Barnsley A&E better get ready because no way will many villages here go to Halifax like they are told to. Ainley Top isn't a suitable route most of the day nevermind in an emergency. Ambulances won't stand a chance.

That's why waiting time at pinderfields is so long...... Can't be an emergency if you travel.all way to wakefield when something up with you.

HRI killed my mother and a friend's. It is dirty, and I found the staff lazy, in contract to my own experience ar Barnslay and Leeds. Dr Steve Ollerton's group have agreed to close the A&E department. So what. Genuine cases will be seen immediately, the drunks and overdosed druggies will be treated elsewhere.

If you're an emergency then you'll go where the ambulance takes you and if that's Wakefield, Halifax or Barnsley you'll have no say. The proposals for Huddersfield especially over Holmfirth way to reduce the number of ambulances based at Honley will also impact on emergency care.

That's Kirklees without an A&E. Nearly 425,000 people.

Not that those evading/avoiding £70bn tax each year care. We're all just plebs to them.

Dewsbury which is also in Kirklees has had its A&E downgraded so the more serious cases have to go to Pinderfields. In fairness there is a proposal to keep downgraded facilities in Huddersfield but more serious cases will go to Halifax.

If you've spent anytime in the military, you'll know there's no such thing.

There is a feature about it on The One Show at 7 o clock which hopefully our PM and Jeremy Hunt both watch. Good luck trying to get people from around Kirkburton all the way to the Denby Dale, Scissett, Clayton West and Birds Edge to go to Halifax instead of Barnsley or even Wakefield. If this one gets shut like the vote says then it will only be a matter of time before an A&E somewhere else in the country is gone after as well.

Up some intact lots of the staff are fantastic. Unfortunately the management isn't. Other members of staff ate incompetent and liers

Overall it's simply safer to stay away

Ok I'll be honest here, there are people in my office from Wakefield who use BDGH as they won't touch Pinderfields with a barge pole.
My dad and myself recently used BDGH, no problems whatsoever.

Total ****** because many people have had nothing but positive experiences at BDGH. I'm sorry if that's not the case for everyone but it's not everyone's experience so to say it's unsafe for everyone to use is simply ******

If the staff are in the habit of eating each other I can see why you stay away.
