Total dive, "simulation" as it's now called
Cheating we all hate and roundly slag off the opposition when it's done against us.
We got a penalty totally not warranted.

Just wondering if we think he should have been punished, or just let it go and accept we have a cheater in the team

It's not clear exactly what happened from the various highlights, but why did no Millwall player argue about it? Giveaway body language if you ask me.

For the penalty? Looked like he got cleared out to me. I was in a good position to see both incidents. I don't think any Millwall players complained too much either.

Look at it in slow motion, no contact at all

I'm not arguing about the result, merely is it moral to be happy that one of our own did something distasteful. We're not known for cheating.

The referee and linesman had to make the decision based on real time at full speed, same as me. I suppose, and I thought the defender dived in and took his leg. When you go to ground in your own penalty area you are at the refs mercy.

There must have been contact as he passed one of their defenders. He was late going down if so though.

I'm going to watch it back for another excuse to watch the highlights :)

Given for a pull on the shirt apparently, by the guy with his head in his hands.

The commentators mentioned he ran on 2 yards then suddenly went down (after going past the first defender)
I have watched it a few times and I think he dived. Not bothered if he did, I am just asking if we are comfortable with this?

Whether or not this particular instance was a dive or not, it's still a fair question.

Would you be happy with a Barnsley player blatantly cheating to gain an advantage? I would immediately say no, but the modern game is littered with it so it's almost like we're shooting ourselves in the foot if we don't do it.

The lads have got to be more "professional".

I'm delighted with it. If he had his shirt pulled, it's a foul. he should make a meal of it. I've witnessed Bradshaw getting nothing for being man handled to the ground.
Ordinarily I don't condone cheating, but if he's had his shirt pulled it's a foul. (Apparently alot clearer from another camera angle).
Aside from the fact they had a pen that wasn't a pen, and the horrible club that they are. I have no sympathy.

That's what my point is Fonzie
Don't sit well with me, but as you say if we don't join in the "conning the ref" mentality we may lose points

Jack tatty I remember you from TM
Not changed in your understanding of other posts. If you have no input apart from "move on" then you need to google what "forum" and "discussion" mean

Looks like a dive to me. A blatant one. He runs past one player and falls on to the other. Is it cheating? Looks like it to me. Am I going to make a song and dance about it? No, because I'm partisan and a bit of a hypocrite when it comes to things that bother me when the opposition do it and things that bother me when we do it. I'd prefer us not to dive, but to me it looks like he did and I've found I can live with it, without it pricking my conscience.

Looks like Pearson touches the ball, but touching the ball has no relevance at all to whether or not a foul is committed, even though everyone thinks it does.
Pearson touches the ball then trips the opposition player. If he hadn't tripped the opposition player, their lad would still have had the ball and could have a shot on goal because the ball didn't go anywhere. I think it's a penalty. But you'll see numerous similar incidents that aren't given.

I thought it was a blatant dive at the time and watching it back later I've not changed my mind. The ref gave it to even up how first half **** up but doesn't excuse the dive.

In the spirit of forum and discussion, how do you account for: -
    1) No Millwall player challenged the decision?
    2) Several Millwall players, including the alleged offender, put their head in their hands?
    3) Their manager (as far as I know) made no mention of it being dodgy?
In any event I doubt whether the thought of diving entered the young lad's head. I could be wrong but I reckon that's an old pro's game.
