Ungrateful little barstewards, right? Discuss/argue BBC News - Harry and Meghan will not use HRH titles - palace https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51163865
How could anyone get mad at someone not using 'public funds'? Effectively it's the same as someone being outraged at a member of the public choosing to no longer claim benefits.. Outrageous!
There are many things that are outrageous in today’s Uncaring society, this is nowhere close. Almost laughable that there are people choosing to donate money to have Big Ben chime at the end of the month. Go and donate the same money to a Charity/soup kitchen instead of being a ****
Who's mad? I'm not into royalty but I think they've disrespected the monarchy. Just thought it would make an interesting debate
I think you misunderstood. I am saying how could anyone be outraged at them no longer taking public money to fund their lifestyle. You are right, give the money to those that need it
There are many that are mad, and the Daily Mail are partly responsible for fuelling the outrage. It is indeed an interesting debate. Personally I'm disgusted that people are slating Harry and Meghan for choosing to live an independent lifestyle free of tax payers money. There are people relying on food banks, there is a guy that I walk past every day who has fck all and nobody bats an eyelid. That annoys me. I think they are a credit to this country due to the fact they no longer want to take from the public purse. And given the fact that the media effectively killed Harry's mother, who can blame him for wanting to take a step back? And the racism towards his wife is also disgraceful. I don't think they've disrespected the monarchy at all, I think they're being pragmatic.
And this is in no way aimed at you @jph77, it is a debate that needs to be had. I'm just fed up of the inequality in this country
I don't think they should be allowed to make their own decisions on such serious matters. You're Royal Family, embrace it FFS
