You're not wrong NR. The opening shot of the beach at Sandbanks evokes so many happy memories. My cousins beach hut is just further on than Harry's home. Gone down there on holiday from the age of five so as a family, we have many happy memories. Harry can often be seen walking his dogs through the village. Enjoyed many a coffee in the Bistro in Sandbanks, not unusual to see Liam Gallagher in there enjoying a breakfast. Regarding the programme, what an array of talent he's assembled. Can't wait to see the game against Germany. Harry's right in what he said, " if the England team of yesteryear had of been able to convert their penalties, it's likely that we could have won another World Cup and possibly the European Championship."
Brilliant. Really enjoying it, but it reminds me of about 10 years ago, when I agreed to play in a 6 a side tournament weighing about 17 stone. My back went in the warm up to the first game and I ended up playing in goal for the remainder.
Amazed at the fact that so many of the former players involved in the programme have literally piled on weight and have " let themselves go." Harry was concerned for the welfare of Razor Ruddock in particular and he was right to do so. Massively overweight and unfit. Having already got an existing heart condition, I was baffled as to why the Medics and specialist fitness advisors have allowed him to carry on. Ray Parlour ( the Romford Pele) looked in reasonable nick, which given the amount of ale he admitted to putting away in his time, is really surprising. After such a short period of intense training, it was good to see the improvement in the skill levels of former players like Matt Le Tissier and Paul Merson. So sad to hear the latter saying his demons for alcohol and gambling have returned. Looking forward to watching tonight's programme where they line up against the German legends. Be good if it ends in a penalty shoot out, with Chris Waddell finally laying his ghosts to rest, by scoring the winning spot kick.
Enjoyed watching the concluding part of Harry Heroes last night. Amazed as to how fit some of the former England players managed to get during the twelve week training programme. For example, Matt Le Tissier managed to shed 23 pounds in weight and was made captain of the side to play Germany. The game itself was played at a " leisurely" pace, but David Seaman, Rob Lee, Paul Merson and Tiss were the standout players. Robbie Fowler gave England the lead up to half time but the Germans came roaring back with two quick goals in the second period. Merson and Tiss upped their game as the match progressed and further goals from Robbie Fowler, Rob Lee and Merse, saw England run out very worthy 4-2 winners. Well done Harry Rednapp, John Barnes ( Coach) and the teams for a very humorous and entertaining programme. https://www.google.co.uk/search?sou...i22i30j33i21.Nkqbc4kfQwo#imgrc=nbpvXgdT5kMS9M:
