Yes, still around. THE 1 is on the BMW.

Likely to be the UK’s most expensive number plate if ever sold. Which I don’t think we should ever do.

£500k wouldn’t make much difference at all.

I’d rather keep Barnsley History in Barnsley.

‘HE’ used to be the designated letters for new cars registered in Barnsley, hence we had first dibs on them for no cost at all.

The Council has been accused far too often of disposing of assets etc too quickly.

I saw THE 3 or 4, can't remember which, over the Pennines when I worked at Stockport College. It was on a small 2 seater "Fiat" sports car. It was before 1995 as I left the College in August that year. I think it was in the Hadfield Hollingworth area. It was on a detour off the A628

THE 1 and 2 are on BMWs. THE 3 is now on a Range Rover Evo and THE 4 on a Lexus.

Used to have THE 17S (the rs), on a Sierra cosworth rs500 back in the late 80s early 90s.
Never got pulled for the plate being altered. Fast car, full blueprint engine with group A power, circa 500bhp. Damn I miss those days!
