For me, he has openly flirted with the Sunderland job by refusing to rule himself out of it. If Mr Lee is following the situation, he could already be eyeing up a replacement.
Mr Lee doesn't own the club does he? I want Hecky to stay just as much as anyone, but he does absolutely the right thing in not ruling himself out.
I haven't ruled myself out for the job of Sunderland manager either. I hope my boss isn't already trying to replace me because of it!
Me neither (psst dont tell anyone but if they offered a 3 year deal on £750K per year I'd think about it. It would see me to early retirement! )
I think Hecky is happy where he is, but you are expected to try and better yourself in life. Taking a job with better pay is one of the usual ways of doing that and there's a lot of peer pressure around doing so. He may also be feeling a little insecure about his job post-takeover and feels it's sensible to keep his options open.
Hecky has said recently that the club is in limbo regarding the takeover and that it's pointless planning for the January transfer window. He'd be daft to rule himself out of other jobs .
Not sure I understand your meaning. However, I'm a semi-retired company director, having worked for 44 years, and with the financial wherewithal to decide whether to work or not. Or perhaps you weren't having a go at me, in which case ignore the above comment.
