    Scotland should get independence.

Don't know why we should pay for you lot to have free prescriptions and no tuition fees when we don't get them.

(The fact that if you had voted for independence you'd now be deep in the economic doo-doo and begging for bail-out is neither here nor there).

WOW! What a totally uneducated and very bitter response. But actually comes as no surprise.

I expect the promised land with streets lined with gold and only good old white people walking on them [like Wellington Street] , and to be rid of those hard working tax paying bloody Jonny foreigners . Long live St George [who was Greek I think]........Tally ho !!...Pull up the drawbridge .

And they somehow forgot to mention the 50 billion its going to cost us to get out . Must have slipped their minds ! . And while were at it can we play football matches like Nicola Sturgeon plays at politics . If we don't get the result we want on Saturday ,don't fear , we can try again and again and again until we win . In fact she should replace Hecky cos she wont ever accept losing . She's our new Hero .

Probably unemployment in a few months time as I do all my work for a German company and I guess the uncertainty about how foreign workers will be handled between UK and EU will mean they don't renew my contract when it expires.

Given that the white paper promised us everything we already had, I expect them to deliver. I also expect the ~12-15% pay cut I've taken compared to my colleagues world wide to be removed, and I'd like the ability to work and travel throughout Europe without needing a visa.

23 months and 364 days left in the negotiation stage and 38 months until the general election. Tick, tock.

He brought me only white British people and none of those ghastly foreigners.

Oh and no EU funding, which is what Barnsley benefited hugely from.

On the radio this morning they were interviewing people in Sunderland and they all focused on immigration, not one of them had any concerns for the economy, believing instead that we would go back to the glory days when Britain traded with the world etc etc etc. What they don't realise is that back then WE HAD AN EMPIRE. We forced countries to trade with us on OUR terms otherwise we sent the Royal Navy in to blockade their ports and stop them trading with anyone else. Including China and India, the two markets that the exiteers seem to be basing their hopes on. We have been trying to get a decent trade deal with India for DECADES and we all know how trade is with China - tariffs on all their imports and sod-all on their exports.

The 50 billion is a fantasy figure , I can't post it now but I have the German Govt report published in Der Spiegel that accepts after 2019 other members will have to take their share of the €10b per year we won't be paying in . Their biggest fear is that we withdraw our contribution to the European Investment Bank which we are apparently one of the biggest funders of...but the lowest drawer...no other country has a bigger imbalance .
What is also interesting is that in 2015 the UK overtook Germany as far as contributions per head of population .

I have read that the £50b is actually a combination of what we committed to pay for the current accounting period (up to 2020), what we already owe and have not yet paid and what we paid in bonds and the EU now want to convert into proper money.

This is correct. I think they will be looking to extract at least the lower estimate of 30 billion. This seems reasonable to me. If you enter into long term financial commitments you can reasonably be expected to keep them.
