Sounds a stupid idea to me......

First you're trusting the person knows how to use the test kit correctly and secondly trusting that if the test tells them they have covid they won't still go to the event they were due to go to.

You have a ticket for the Euro final or Wimbledon final and on the morning of the event you do the test that's sent to you and it says you have covid. You going to trust people to stay at home?

my missis who’s a nurse does them twice a week as do all the others in her trust and they are spectacularly unreliable. One of her colleagues did her test all negative. Started feeling ill at work. Did the proper test which came back positive. When she did the home test the next morning still negative. She was being oxygenated 24 hours later.

as you say a daft idea

Even the proper test is ridiculously unreliable

Was it Elon Musk who took the test three times in the same day and reported the different results on Twitter? Pretty sure it was.
